US Soccer "F" License Now in Spanish

CHICAGO (Feb. 14, 2017) – The U.S. Soccer Federation is now offering the National F License coaching course entirely in Spanish. While U.S. Soccer has worked with its membership to offer educational opportunities in Spanish, the F course marks the first universal license opportunity offered in a language other than English.

“When you look at the mission of the Federation, we are attempting to improve soccer at all levels,” said U.S. Soccer director of coaching education Nico Romeijn. “Our success is not only defined by results of our National Teams but also the work and progress that is occurring at the grassroots level. The Spanish F will serve as another opportunity for coaches to begin their education and to ensure our players are participating in a fun, developmentally appropriate environment.”

Echoing those thoughts UYSA Technical Director Eric Landon said, "The Spanish F, is a great opportunity for our future coaches. There are people around the state who want to become involved in youth soccer through coaching, who may not feel comfortable taking the course in English. This new course allows them to get their foot in the door. Anybody who wants to become a coach should have the opportunity to do so and the Spanish F helps us achieve that. I am really excited to welcome new Spanish speaking coaches into the state and work with them to provide the best environment for all of our athletes."

The F license is a two-hour course, conducted entirely online, intended for all parents and coaches of youth players. The focus of this grassroots course is to share U.S. Soccer’s best practices in creating a fun, activity-centered and age-appropriate environment for players between the ages of 5-8.
