U.S. Power Soccer is in Need of Your Support to Host National Events in 2017

Dear Indiana Soccer Friends, Family, and Fans,

Let us introduce you to one of the coolest versions of soccer... Power Soccer. With this game, athletes play in specialized power chairs that sit very low to the ground, are extremely responsive and can kick the ball up to 40mph on an indoor basketball court. The game is played 4 v 4 and is fast, very competitive and so fun to play…check out a few minutes of this local game played down in Greenwood that was captured overhead with a drone. It is very similar to the outdoor game with a few exceptions to the rule.

Your association is sharing this with you because we need your help.   Power Soccer is hosting the largest event ever for the sport; it is called the 2017 FIPFA World Cup. It is like FIFA, only for power soccer. It stands for “Federation International of Powerchair Football Association”. This upcoming event will actually be the 3rd World Cup, the first was held in Tokyo in 2007 and Team USA came away the champions! The 2nd World Cup was played in Paris, France in 2011 and again USA was victorious! Finally, for this third cup, the undefeated Team USA will have a chance to win back-to-back-to-back world cups. Check out a teaser for the upcoming event.

With 160 power wheelchairs coming from 10 countries, the financial aspects are huge.  Executing this event for the complex rehab athlete doubles and sometimes triples the personal care attendants needed to care for the athlete over this seven-day period. Transportation has been one of the most challenging aspects of planning this event. We are still actively fundraising to meet our financial obligations.

Because Indiana Soccer believes that everyone deserves to play the sport they love, we are asking our fellow soccer players, families and friends to help by donating through the Power Soccer / Indiana Soccer Crowdrise page $20.  Just for you to know, Indiana Soccer will match up to $3000! Help us to make that happen!

Do make a donation, simply go to:  and click on the Indiana Soccer logo to make your donation and help to raise the giving to $3000 so Indiana Soccer can match!

Also, Your association along with Power Soccer of Indiana is looking for people who would like to volunteer to be part of this national event. The following are just some of the positions that are available to fill. Ideally we are looking for people who can fill a four hour time slot.

Scorekeepers, time keepers, ball runners, assistant referees (qualified individuals only, training will be provided) and many other positions. Click on the link below to learn more and sign up to share some of your valuable time with these super athletes!
