FRISCO, Texas (July 26, 2018) – 14-Under Girls FC Dallas Blue and 16-Under Boys Solar 02 Stricker have qualified for the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships semifinals held at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.

13-Under Girls Liverpool 05 Elite, 14-Under Girls FC Dallas 04 Blue, 15-Under Girls Liverpool 03 Elite and 16-Under Girls Sparta FC 02 Elite all earned their respective spots in the National Championships by claiming US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships titles last month, while defending National Champions Solar 02 Stricker reserved the right to defend its national title by winning the 2017-18 US Youth Soccer National League White title in December. 2018 North Texas Soccer State Cup finalists in the 19-Under Girls age group, Invictus SC 99 rounds out the field of North Texas teams .

Group play took place July 24-26, while semifinals in the 14-18 Under age groups and finals in the 13-Under and 19-Under age groups will occur July 28. The remaining champions will be crowned July 29. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19/20U age groups from each regional event will converge in the finals with the National League teams.


13-Under Girls
Liverpool 05 Elite finishes in third place at the National Championships after a 1-0 loss to San Diego Surf 05 (CA-S) on the final day of group play. Liverpool finishes the tournament with two draws and one loss with two goals scores and three conceded.

14-Under Girls
FC Dallas Blue already secured a spot in the National Championship semifinals with 1-0 wins on the first two days of play, but found themselves on the wrong end of the same score today against Michigan Jaguars 04 Green (MI). FC Dallas finished in second place in Group B, and will play Group A winners Philadelphia SC Swarm 04 (PAE) in the semifinals on Saturday.

15-Under Girls
Liverpool 03 Elite finished the National Championships with a 2-0 loss to Midwest Region champions Cleveland FC 03 (OH-N). Both Cleveland goals were scored in the first half, and both sides created chances in the second half, but a goal alluded them and the match ended 2-0.

16-Under Girls
After a scoreless first half, Sparta FC 02 Elite earned a 1-0 lead when Kayla Smith converted a penalty-kick that was drawn by Graycen Rasmussen against Legends FC 02 Academy (CA-S). Sparta looked to be headed to the National Championships semifinals, but Legends would pull back a goal in the final minute to secure a 1-1 draw. Sparta ends the National Championships with a 1-1-1 record.

16-Under Boys
2017 National Championships Golden Ball winner Riley O’Donnell netted four goals to lead all scorers in the age group as Solar 02 Stricker defeated Tuzos Academy 02 (AZ) 4-0 in a rematch of the 2017 National Championships finals. Solar has now won its first eight National Championships games and will play Arlington SA 2002 Red (VA) in the semifinals on Saturday.

19-Under Girls
Invictus FC 99 fell to AFC Lightning 99 Elite (GA) on the final day of play at the National Championships.
