– 17-Under Girls Sting East Dunstan and 18-Under Girls DFeeter Kicks 00 finished their respective US Youth Soccer National League seasons this last weekend at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex in Las Vegas.

On the boys side, defending US Youth Soccer National Champions Solar 02 Stricker secured a second trip to the National Championships after play finish in their division.

The two sides combined to earn three wins, two draws and only one loss. Sting’s first trip to the National League resulted in a third place finish in the National League Blue Division with a 4-2-1 record, while National League veteran Kicks placed fourth in the National League Red Division courtesy of a 3-2-2 record.

Sting opened the weekend with a hard fought 3-2 defeat at the hands of eventual second-place finishers Arizona Arsenal Teal (AZ). Savannah Hudson netted a brace for Sting, but a late equalizer could not be found. Sting responded with a strong performance on the second day of play as the North Texas side defeated Fullerton Rangers 01 White (CA-S) 3-0 thanks to goals from Kaylee Swaner, Chloe Bys and Julianna Robinette. Sting finished up its first National League season with a 3-1 win against Century V 01 Gold (PA-W). Ainsley Jeffrey would score a pair of goals to go with a late insurance goal from Reese Cross. With a third place finish, Sting secures an opportunity to return to the National League next season.

Dfeeters Kicks would go undefeated in its final three games of the 2017-18 National League season. Emilie Torres, Xya Balderas, Jaida Thomas and Michelle Gonzalez all found the back of the net in a 4-0 win for the Kicks to start the weekend. Gonzalez and Michie would score for Kicks in the second match, but Scottsdale Blackhawks Taylor (AZ) also found two goals as the match ended 2-2. Kicks would battle PacNW 00 Maroon to the same 2-2 result with Carmen Herndon and Thomas finding the back of the net.
