
FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 13, 2017) – A pair of former North Texas Soccer players Reagan Dunk and Brandon Aubrey were selected in the first round of the 2017 MLS Super Draft.
Dunk was the first North Texas Soccer alum to come off the board at number 13 when he was selected by Real Salt Lake. Aubrey would soon follow when he was selected by Toronto FC with the 21st pick.
Dunk was named a NCAA Division I First Team All-American after leading Denver University to the semifinals of the 2016 Men’s College Cup. The senior defender was a 2015 Second Team All-American, three-time First-Team All-Summit League player and a two-time defending Summit League Defensive Player of the Year. The Dallas native spent his youth days playing for Solar Soccer Club and competed in multiple seasons of the Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance Classic League.
Aubrey was selected as a Division I Third Team All-American in his senior year playing for Notre Dame. The Plano, Texas native started every game for the Irish while finishing second on the team in goals (9) and points (19). The senior defender won five US Youth Soccer North Texas State Cup titles and reached the finals of the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships with Dallas Texans. Aubrey has also played in the prestigious US Youth Soccer National League while gathering US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West, Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance Classic League and Dallas Cup titles.
