Girls Recreational Coach of the Year Erin Hanlon with "Of the Year" Awards Chairperson Randy Vogt

By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association

December 17, 2019-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased that Erin Hanlon has been selected as our Girls Recreational Coach of the Year. He was nominated by Jody Campbell, on the Board of Directors of the Town of Poughkeepsie Soccer Club (TOPSC), and honored at the Eastern New York Holiday Party on December 7 at Marina del Rey in the Bronx.

Erin is an excellent role model for his players. Not only has he done an outstanding job coaching a girls recreational and girls inter-town team for many years, he also serves on the TOPSC Board of Directors as a Division Director.

The Poughkeepsie resident assigns players to teams, recruits and spoorts coaches plus schedules games. And if that was not enough, last year he took on the additional position of Vice President in charge of field maintenance. He has brought much enthusiasm to this big undertaking and he’s often been found at Greenvale Park doing projects by himself.

He's always willing to help anyone who needs assistance and does it with a great sense of humor that makes him a fun person to work with.

Additionally, Erin is a First Responder with the Arlington Fire Department and helped his daughter do a community service project for her Girl Scout badge so now TOPSC has a cleat-cleaner for players when leaving Greenvale Park.

With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
