Coach Sheely, a 1997 Center Grove High School graduate, continued his playing career at IUPUI under Indiana Soccer’s current Director of Education, Steve Franklin.  Sheely helped lead IUPUI to the school’s first Division I Conference Championship, as well as its first NCAA College Cup appearance.  Sheely, along with coach Franklin and his teammates from that 2000 championship team, were inducted into the IUPUI Hall of Fame in 2017.

Since graduating from IUPUI in 2001, Sheely has served as a teacher and high school head soccer coach for fourteen years.   He coached the Center Grove girls for 10 years and coached the Center Grove boys for 2 years.  During his tenure at Center Grove, his efforts contributed to 9 Semi-State appearances, 7 Elite Eight appearances, and 2 Final Four appearances.  Sheely was named The Indiana High School Girl’s Coach of the Year in 2007. Two years later, in 2009, he was named Center Grove’s, High School Teacher of the Year.   Sheely currently serves as the boys’ head soccer coach and social studies teacher at Elkhart Memorial High School.

In addition to his high school and ODP activities, Coach Sheely accumulated 14 years of club soccer coaching experience in Indianapolis and Northern Indiana.  Sheely stated “I am pleased and honored that Indiana Soccer has entrusted to me, such a sizable responsibility.  I very much look forward to working with the member clubs and their coaches to provide a valuable, supplementary training and development environment for the players that can benefit from the ODP experience.”

Joy Carter Indiana’s ODP administrator stated “Todd was given a tough assignment and did an excellent Job as Interim Director.  I am in full agreement with this decision and will continue to support him, as he directs Indiana Soccer’s Olympic Development Program.”
