FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 4, 2017) – Three North Texas Soccer teams finished off their US Youth Soccer National League seasons with three games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and ChampionsGate Sports Complex in Orlando Fla., as they played alongside the Disney Soccer Showcase from Dec. 31 – Jan. 2.
Division winners in the Under-16 through Under-18 boys and girls age groups will earn a spot in the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, while division winners and runners-up in the Under-15 and Under-19/20 age groups will qualify to the National Championships. National League Standings

Under-15 Girls
Solar Chelsea 02 Hopkins started off the second weekend on the right foot with a 4-2 win over HMMS Eagles FC Impact (PA-E). Raigen Powell netted a pair of goals to join Madison Goss and Natalie Smathers on the scoreboard. Solar would then fall 4-1 to SJEB Rush 02 Academy Blue (NJ) before being defeated by Nationals Union 02 Black (MI) 7-1 in the final match. Powell scored both goals in the defeats to give the co-leading scorer at the 2016 National Championships seven on the season.
Under-17 Girls
Dallas Kicks SC 01 lost a thriller in its first match of the weekend 4-3 against FC United Select 1 2000 (IL). Alliyah Marquez netted a second-half brace and 2015 National Championships Golden Ball winner Jaida Thomas brought the Kicks within one goal in the 89th minute, but an equalizer could not be found. The three-time defending US Youth Soccer North Texas State Cup champions would end the season on a high note with two victories in its final two games. Thomas would net a brace, and U.S. Women’s Youth National Team pool player Samantha Meza would find the back of the net along with Jordan Martinez in a 4-2 victory over North Shore United Blue (WI). It would be Meza’s turn to net two goals to go with a goal from Michelle Gonzalez and an age group-leading 11th goal from Thomas as The Kicks defeated UFA 00 Premier (GA) 4-1 in the final match. Dallas Kicks scored 22 goals in seven games, which is currently the most in the age group.
Solar Chelsea 00 Bates was narrowly defeated by 2016 National Championships semifinalists Campton United 1 (IL) 2-1 in the first match of the weekend as Melissa Blanchette scored Solar’s goal. Nationals Union Black (MI) defeated Solar 3-0 on the second day of the weekend before the North Texas side fell 3-1 to HBC Impact 00 (NY-E) on the final day of the season. Blanchette scored in that match as well to give her four on the season.
Under-18 Girls Solar Chelsea 99 will finish its opening National League season in Las Vegas from March 17-19.
