Three more North Texas Soccer teams qualify for the Region III Championships semifinals

GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 27, 2017) – Three more North Texas Soccer teams advanced to the US Youth Soccer Region III Championship semifinals after the second day of quarterfinals. Those three will join five teams that secured semifinals spots yesterday. Teams in the Under-13 through Under-19/20 boys and girls age groups competed at Bryan Park Soccer Complex in Greensboro, N.C. from June 23-29, 2017.

US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West winners in the Under-13 and Under-14 Boys and Girls age groups along with champions and runner-ups in the Under-15 through Under-19/20 Boys and Girls age groups joined State Cup Champions and select wildcards at the Region III Championships. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships held at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco Texas on July 25-29.

The North Texas Soccer State Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19/20U age groups from each regional event will converge in the finals with the National League teams.

Dallas Texans 04 South (TX-N) were defeated by Lonestar Red (TX-S) 3-1 in the quarterfinals, while Dallas Texans 05 South (TX-N) were unable to advance out of the quarterfinals after a 2-1 loss to Tennessee Soccer Club (TN).

Under-17 Boys
FC Dallas 00 Premier (TX-N) got off to a dream start with goals coming from Jose Garcia, Carlos Santana and Caleb Meyer to go up 3-0 against SLSC 2000 Blue (OK). SLSC would battle back to make the score 3-2, but FC Dallas would hold on for the 3-2 win and a trip to the semifinals. FC Dallas will play Houstonians 2000 (TX-S) in the semifinals.

FC Dallas Che (TX-N) fell to CASL Red 00 North (NC) in a wild match that needed kicks from the mark to determine a winner. After going down 1-0, Tucker Littleton equalized for FC Dallas as regulation ended with a 1-1 draw. Reed Barry put FC Dallas up in the second period of overtime with a long free-kick, but CASL would equalize and ultimately win in kicks from the mark.

Under-17 Girls
Dallas Texas Fort Worth Black (TX-N) fell 1-0 to 00 TFCA Alliance (NC) in the quarterfinals.

Defending Region III Champions Dallas Kicks SC 00 (TX-N) will not win back-to-back titles after being defeated SSA Chelsea 00 Elite (GA) 3-1. Jordan Michie scored the lone goal for kicks against SSA, who has only conceded two goal in the entire tournament.

Under-18 Boys
FC Dallas 99 Premier (TX-N) advanced to the semifinals after a 2-0 win over Birmingham United SA 99 (AL). Miguel Maynez and Dorihan Funga-Mukaba netted goals for FC Dallas, who will play UFA 99 Premier (GA) in the semifinals.

Solar Chelsea 99 Sawyer (TX-N) will join FC Dallas in the semifinals after a 4-1 win over ACYS Spirit United Elite (FL). Trevor Martineau netted a brace to go with goals from Alexander Shelton and Ian Meece. Solar Chelsea will play Arkansas Comets 99 Premier (AR) in the other semifinals match.

Sting Central 99 Parker (TX-N) fell 8-1 to 2016-17 National League Blue Division winners TSC Showcase (TN) 8-1 in the quarterfinals as Sofie Munoz scored the lone goal for Sting.
