SRPL West divisions take shape after North Texas weekend

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 14, 2017) – Two North Texas Soccer teams clinched US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West titles, while three more North Texas squads secured spots in the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships after a weekend of play at Rolling Hills Soccer Complex in Fort Worth.

The SRPL is comprised of competitive teams in the 13-Under through 19-Under boys and girls age groups in the Southern Region playing in league format. Division winners receive a bid to the US Youth Soccer Region III Championships and winners from select age groups qualify for the prestigious US Youth Soccer National League. The West division is comprised of teams from North Texas, Oklahoma and South Texas.

14-Under Girls

D’feeters 04 Voutier (TX-N) and FC Dallas Youth 04 Blue (TX-N) will both head to the 2018 Southern Regional Championships courtesy of a one-two finish in the 14-Under Girls age group. D’feeters defeated One World Soccer 04 (TX-S) 6-0 on Saturday before winning 3-1 over Austin Texans 04 (TX-S) on Sunday. FC Dallas Youth controlled its own destiny heading into the final weekend and defeated Lonestar SC 04 2-1 on Saturday, but fell 1-0 to Rise SC 04 (TX-S) on the final day of play.

14-Under Boys

OK Energy FC Central 04 (OK) secured the SRPL title weeks ago, but Dallas Kicks 04 Selecao (TX-N) secured a second-place finish thanks to a 4-0 win over AC Milan 04 Maldini (TX-S) on Saturday and a 2-1 victory against third-place Texas United Legends Premier 04 (TX-S) on Sunday. FC Premier 04 Forzi (TX-N) currently sits in fifth place after winning 1-0 and 6-0 against WH Elite (TX-S) and RC Rangers 04 (TX-S) respectively.

15-Under Girls

Lonestar SC 03 (TX-S) currently sits in first place of the 15-Under Girls age group, but North Texas sides Liverpool 03 Elite (TX-N) and Sting West 03 Khan (TX-N) are lurking below with hopes of winning the title. Lonestar sports a 9-1 record, but still has to face defending SRPL West champs Liverpool (8-0-1). Sting has only played seven games, but a 6-1 record keeps the 2017 North Texas State Cup semifinalists in contention for a top-two spot.

15-Under Boys

Defending North Texas State Champions FC Premier 03 (TX-N) used a 4-0 win against Rise SC Elite (TX-S) and a 7-0 win over PSSA (TX-S) to lock up second place with a 6-2 record. Third place FC Dallas Youth 03 Premier (TX-N) finished just one point behind FC Premier after also earning wins over Rise SC and PSSA.

16-Under Girls

Lonestar SC 02 (TX-S) secured the 16-Under Girls title this past weekend, and a trio of North Texas sides will battle it out to determine who will fill the second spot at the 2018 Southern Regional Championships. Sparta FC 02 Elite (TX-N) leads the charge with a 5-1 record after going 1-1 this past weekend. 2017 Southern Regional Championships finalists Solar 02 Naizer (TX-N) will hope to return regionals with a second place finish in the SRPL West. Finally, Solar 02 Claros (TX-N) went 2-0 this past weekend to stay in contention for a regionals spot. Both Solar sides will play in the 2017-18 National League this December.

16-Under Boys

Defending US Youth Soccer National Champions, SRPL West Champions and North Texas State Cup champions Solar 02 Stricker (TX-N) sits at the top of the 16-Under Boys division with a 7-1-1 record thanks to a strong performance this past weekend. The defending champs won 10-0 over One World Soccer (TX-S) on Saturday before earning a 7-0 win against CSC Houston (TX-S) on Sunday to wrap up its SRPL season. 2017 North Texas State Cup semifinalist FC Dallas Youth 02 Premier (TX-N) and OK Energy Central 02 (OK) both sit three points behind Solar, and each team still has one game left to play. Solar and seventh-place Odyssey SC (TX-N) will enter the 2017-18 National League season next month.

17-Under Girls

Defending SRPL West champs Fever United 01 (TX-N) will return to the Southern Regional Championships after finishing second in the SRPL West. Fever fell to champions Lonestar SC 01 Red 4-2 on Saturday before finishing on a strong note with a 5-1 win against Sting Austin 01 (TX-S) in the final match of the SRPL season. Fever and third-place Sting East Dunstan (TX-N) will represent North Texas next month in the 2017-18 National League.

17-Under Boys

Solar 01 Stricker (TX-N) and Solar 01 Sawyer (TX-N) finished second and third in the 17-Under age group after each side earned a pair of wins this past weekend. 2017 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships quarterfinalists Solar 01 Stricker defeated ID Escuela Rayados (TX-S) 3-0 on Saturday before winning 5-3 against fourth-place Lonestars 01 Red (TX-S) on Sunday. Defending North Texas State Cup champions and 2017 Southern Regional Championships finalists Solar 01 Sawyer won 3-1 against RC Rangers 01 (TX-S) on Saturday and 4-1 over Rise SC 01 (TX-S) on Sunday. Both Solar sides will look to qualify for the 2018 National Championships via the 2017-18 National League.

Dallas Texans SRPL November

18-Under Girls

Austin Texans 00 (TX-S) claimed the 18-Under Girls title, and will be joined by either D’feeters Kicks SC 00 (TX-N) or Dallas Texans 00 Black FTW (TX-N), who both reached the quarterfinals of the 2017 Southern Regional Championships. D’feeters Kicks fell to Austin Texans 3-2 on Saturday, but remained in contention with a 2-1 win against Rise SC 00 (TX-S). Dallas Texans drew both Austin Texans and Rise SC 1-1 this weekend. D’feeters Kicks and Texans will meet in the final SRPL match to determine who will claim the second Southern Regional spot.

18-Under Boys

FC Dallas Youth 00 Boys (TX-N) narrowly edged out 2017 National Championships finalists FC Dallas 00 Premier (TX-N) to claim the 17-Under title. Both teams finished 8-0-1, with each team’s only draw occurring when the two sides fought to a 1-1 tie. FC Dallas 00 Boys won 5-0 on both Saturday and Sunday against Lonestars 00 Red (TX-S) and Quest Texans (TX-S) respectively. FC Dallas 00 Premier defeated Quest Texans 3-1 on Saturday before winning 10-0 against Lonestars on Sunday. Both FC Dallas teams will head to North Carolina next month to compete in the 2017-18 National League.

19-Under Girls

The 19-Under Girls age group was decided before the end of October as defending champions Solar 99 Grado (TX-N) narrowly edged out Solar 99 Smith (TX-N) for second place, and ultimately a spot in the 2018 Southern Regional Championships.

19-Under Boys

Solar 99 Sawyer (TX-N), Dallas Texans 99 Red (TX-N) and FC Dallas 99 East (TX-N) finished second, third and fourth respectively after the three teams went undefeated on their final weekend of SRPL play. Solar edged out MSK Rayados (TX-S) 4-3 on Saturday before earning a 4-1 win against Texas United Gunners (TX-S) on Sunday. Dallas Texans and PSSA (TX-S) battled to a scoreless draw on Saturday and finished on a high note with a 3-0 win over South Texas FC (TX-S) on Sunday. FC Dallas notched a 4-0 win against South Texas FC on Saturday before narrowly defeating PSSA 2-1 on the final day of play.
