Sixteen North Texas teams set for 2018-19 National League season

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 20, 2018) Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 29, 16 North Texas Soccer teams will begin play in the 2018-19 US Youth Soccer National League season. Teams in the 16-Under through 19-Under Girls age groups will begin play on Nov. 29, while the rest of the teams will kick off the season on Dec. 6. Games will be played at Wilson Gillette Athletic Complex in Wilson, N.C. and Rocky Mount Sports Complex in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Of the 16 teams that will be representing North Texas, five will be returning to the event. 18-Under Boys Solar 01 Stricker, 18-Under Boys Solar 01 Sawyer, 18-Under Girls Fever United 01 Penn, 19-Under Boys FC Dallas 00 Boys and 19-Under Boys FC Dallas 00 Boys will look to build upon experience from previous seasons.

Four North Texas teams will be debuting in the National League after claiming 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championship titles and competing in the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas. 14-Under Girls Liverpool 05 Elite placed third in the 2018 National Championships, FC Dallas 04 Blue reached the semifinals, while Liverpool 03 Elite and Sparta FC 02 Elite competed in the group stage.

The National League provides a pathway for four teams per gender age group to qualify for the US Youth Soccer National Championships, sending the top finishers in each division of the 14U through 19U Boys and Girls age groups to compete for the National title. The four National League representatives will join the four regional champions at the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships, July 23-29 at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
