
FRISCO, Texas (May 2, 2017) – As a result of their finish in the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West Division, 16 North Texas Soccer teams will qualify to the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on June 23-29.
North Texas Soccer claimed 16 of the 24 SRPL West spots, reserved for champions in the Under-13 and Under-14 Boys and Girls age groups along with champions and runners-up in the Under-15 through Under-19/20 Boys and Girls age groups.
Nine of the North Texas qualifiers claimed league titles, six finished second and one division has yet to determine a winner. North Texas qualified teams in 12 of the 14 age groups. North Texas Soccer will send an additional 14 teams via the North Texas Soccer State Cup, which begins May 4 and finishes May 14.

Under-13 Girls
Dallas Texans 04 South dominated the Under-13 Girls age group, ending with a 9-0 record and a spot in the Region III Championships. Texans scored 28 goals, 11 more than any other team, and only surrendered one goal in nine games.
Under-14 Girls
Liverpool 03 Elite and Dallas Texans 03 South will meet in the final regular season match to determine who will represent North Texas in the Under-14 Girls age group. Liverpool is a perfect 10-0 in league play while scoring 47 goals and only allowing one, while Texans is 9-1 while scoring 51 goals and giving up seven.
Under-15 Boys
North Texas claimed the top two positions in the Under-15 Boys age group with Solar Chelsea 02 Stricker winning the league title and Odyssey SC 02 finishing in second. Solar was the only undefeated side with a 9-0-2 record and will be the only North Texas team entering the 2017 Region III Championships having already secured a spot in the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, thanks to a second-place finish in the US Youth Soccer National League Blue Division. Odyssey, who fell to Solar in the 2016 North Texas Soccer State Cup finals finished with an 8-2-1 record while scoring 18 goals and conceding 11.
Under-15 Girls
Solar Chelsea 02G Nazier was narrowly edged out by Sting Austin (TX-S) in the Under-15 Girls age group to finish second. Solar finished with a 9-1 record and tied Sting for the league-low in goals conceded with seven while scoring 25. The 2016-17 Lake Highlands Classic League champions reached the quarterfinals of the 2016 North Texas State Cup and will look to build on that experience headed into the 2017 State Cup.
Under-16 Boys
Solar Chelsea 01 Stricker edged out fellow club member and 2016-17 National League participant Solar Chelsea 01 Fagen on a tie-breaker to secure the second spot of the Under-16 Boys age group below champions TSC Hurricane 01 Elite (OK). Both sides finished with 4-2 records and will compete in the upcoming North Texas Soccer State Cup. Solar Stricker will look to win its fourth straight State Cup, while Solar Fagen will hope to claim its first state title in order to qualify to its second consecutive Region III Championship.
Under-16 Girls
Fever United 01 Mariscal and Sting East 01 Dunstan finished first and second respectively to give North Texas the sweep of the Under-16 Girls Region III Championship slots. The two sides finished with identical 11-1 records, but Fever claimed first place after defeating the 2016 North Texas State Cup champs 2-0 on the opening day of play. Fever notched 34 goals, six more than any other team, while Sting conceded only four goals, the least in the group.
Under-17 Boys
FC Dallas 00 Premier claimed the Under-17 Boys SRPLW title after edging out former National Champions Houstonians FC (TX-S). The 2016 North Texas State Cup finalists finished with a 6-0-1 record while scoring 28 goals and only surrendering four, which were both the best in the group.
Under-17 Girls
Three-time defending North Texas State Cup champions Dallas Kicks SC 01 rattled off seven straight victories to win the Under-17 Girls SRPLW group and advance to its fourth straight Region III Championships. The 2015 National Championship finalists claimed the title over two-time State Cup finalist Solar Chelsea 00 Bates, which had an identical 10-2 record, but finished second on a head-to-head tie-breaker.
Under-18 Boys
Dallas Texans 99 Red claimed the Under-18 Boys title over fellow North Texas sides Solar Chelsea 99 Sawyer and FC Dallas 99 East. Dallas Texans, who have claimed back-to-back North Texas State Cup titles, finished with a 5-1-1 record, while 2016 Region III Championships finalists Solar claimed second place and a regional bid with a 4-1-2 record while surrendering the least goals in the group with seven in as many games.
Under-18 Girls
Defending North Texas Soccer State Cup champions Solar Chelsea 99 Grado will head to its second straight Region III Championships after winning the Under-18 girls age group with an 8-0-2 record.
Under-19/20 Boys
FC Dallas Youth 98 Premier clinched a spot in a third straight Region III Championships after winning the Under-19/20 Boys SRPLW title. The two-time defending North Texas State Cup champions finished with a 5-1-1 record while only conceding two goals in seven games, which was five less than second place Oklahoma FC 98 (OK).
Under-19/20 Girls
Solar Chelsea 98 will head to its second straight Region III Championship thanks to an undefeated performance in the Under-19/20 Girls age group. Solar finished with a 6-0-1 record while scoring 17 goals and only conceding a league-low seven goals.
