Seven North Texas teams to compete at National Championships

FRISCO, Texas (July 22, 2019) – Seven teams will be representing North Texas Soccer at the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be held July 23-28 in Overland Park Kan.

14-Under Girls Dfeeters 05 Black, 17-Under Boys Solar 02 Castro and 18-Under Boys Solar 01 Stricker qualified for the National Championships via a first place finish at the US Youth Soccer National League, while 13-Under Boys FC Dallas 06 Premier, 16-Under FC Dallas 03 Premier, 18-Under Boys FC Dallas 01 Premier and 19-Under Boys FC Dallas 00 Boys won the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships. Dfeeters also claimed the southern regional title in addition to a first place finish in the National League. This year marks the most North Texas teams in the National Championships in over a decade.

The National Championships begin with the player luncheon on July 22 with round robin games being played July 23-25. 13-Under Boys and Girls champions will be crowned July 26, while finals matches in the remaining age groups will take place June 28.

FC Dallas 06 Premier, FC Dallas 03 Premier, FC Dallas 01 Premier and FC Dallas 00 Boys all qualified to the Regional Championships via a first place finish in the 2018-19 National League Frontier Conference titles. FC Dallas 06 Premier, FC Dallas 03 Premier and FC Dallas 00 also claimed North Texas State Cup titles.

After a 1-0 loss to PDA Shore Flash (NJ) in its National League debut, Dfeeters rattled off four wins and a draw in six games to finish at the top of the National League Blue division to return to the National Championships after finishing in third place last year. Solar 02 Castro went 1-1 in the first weekend of National League play, but the 2018-19 Frontier Conference champions won three straight in Florida while scoring 17 goals to move into first place. A 2-1 win against Michigan Jaguars 02 Green (MI) secured the National League White Division and ultimately a spot in the National Championships. After going 3-0-2 in December, Solar 01 Stricker was forced to wait and see if any team would surpass them in the National League Red Standings. No team was able to do so as Solar 01 Stricker and FC Dallas 01 Premier will both represent North Texas in the 18-Under Boys age group.

FC Dallas 06 Premier won its last two matches by one goal apiece in its Southern Regional Championships debut, including a 2-1 win over ASCES Breakers FC (FL) in the finals. After winning its first four games at the Southern Regional Championships, FC Dallas 03 Premier defeated PPA KSA 03 Pro Profile (GA) 3-2 in the semis before earning a 3-0 win against OK Energy FC Central (OK). After scoring 22 goals in three group matches, FC Dallas 01 Premier defeated defending regional champions and National League winners PPA KSA 01 Pro Profile (GA) 3-2 in the semifinals before a 3-1 win over Oklahoma Energy FC 01 (OK) secured a National Championships spot. After winning the group with a 2-0-1 record, FC Dallas 00 defeated fellow North Texas side Solar 01 Sawyer 3-0 in a rematch of the North Texas State Cup finals. FC Dallas 00 earned its first spot in the National Championships with a win over MS Rush Premier (MS) in the finals.
