Schedule announced for 2017 US Youth Soccer Region II Championships in Sioux Falls and Indiana Teams Ready to Represent the State with Honor, Dignity and Professionalism

 

Indiana State Cup winners will start competition this weekend at the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series event. The champions of the event will then move on to the National Finals. Indiana Soccer is being represented by 7 boys’ teams and 7 girls’ teams to compete at the regional level tournament.  Good luck to all our teams participating!

FRISCO, Texas (June 15, 2017) – US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the schedule for the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Championships to be played June 23-28 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The US Youth Soccer Region II Championships, which will feature top teams in the 13U through 19/20U age groups, kick off with round robin games Friday, June 23, through Sunday, June 25. Following a day of rest, semifinal matches are Tuesday, June 27, and finals are Wednesday, June 28.

US Youth Soccer State Cup and Midwest Regional League wildcards from 14 US Youth Soccer State Associations in Region II, including host South Dakota State Soccer Association, will participate. The other state associations represented include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio North, Ohio South and Wisconsin.

Teams competing in the Regional Championships advanced through the first step of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, where more than 10,000 teams began their journey at the US Youth Soccer State Championships. State champions advance to the one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships, where over 900 teams compete. 

Regional winners of the 13U through 19/20U age groups earn a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, July 24-30, at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. One of the 14 national crowns awarded is the James P. McGuire Cup, the oldest trophy in youth sports, dating back to 1935 with the inaugural youth championships. 

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the country's oldest and most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. The event provides more than 185,000 players from US Youth Soccer's 55 state associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation, while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play. The Series is known as the ultimate destination for the country's collegiate soccer coaches and the future of soccer.
