Westfield, December 19, 2018) On Friday, December 14, 2018, the Indiana Soccer staff and Board of Directors celebrated Sarah Cantwell at a luncheon held in her honor. Sarah retired from Indiana Soccer after 20 years in the Member Services department.
Sarah holds the record as the employee with the longest tenure ever in the history of the organization. Sarah’s contributions are too numerous to list, but these statistics speak to the volume of work she completed while she was with Indiana Soccer. Sarah registered over 1,260,000 players. She served on the cup committee and helped over 9,200 teams compete in these prestigious events. Sarah was responsible for the production of the annual Awards Gala that served over 10,000 meals during the past 20 years. In the risk management area, she was the overseer of more than 85,700 background checks. Her personal contributions to assist member clubs simply cannot be measured.
Sarah’s history with youth soccer in Indiana started long before 1998. She served as the President of Carmel United Soccer club where her children played the beautiful game. Her experience in serving the youth soccer family is deep and wide and she will be missed by the staff and many others. She dedicated her talent and many "additional" volunteer hours over the past 30 years to the mission of Indiana Soccer.
“Seldom does a person become known on a first name basis with an entire state; however, Sarah did just that. The name Sarah became synonymous with the state of Indiana, both with the families in Indiana as well as the other state associations in US Youth Soccer. It is impossible to state how much her presence and daily contributions will be missed.” said David Guthrie, Executive Director of Indiana Soccer.
Indiana Soccer would like to extend a THANK YOU to Sarah for her efforts on behalf of the members we serve!
