Rising Stars Soccer Club Thanks Essential Workers

By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer AssociationRising_Stars_for_Web

June 9, 2020-The Rising Stars Soccer Club of the Central New York State Soccer League (CNYSSL) recently went to great lengths to create this video, with 85 of its 120 registered players thanking essential workers:

Rising Stars’ Director of Coaching Damon Neish moderates the video and explained, “The video kept some interaction with our players. We cannot practice or scrimmage so giving virtual challenges has been what we have been providing for them. We've had great support from our players and families and want to show our support for everyone working as hard as the kids work when they are on the field!”

Rising Stars is based in the Mohawk Valley, where they have moved on to Phase 2 in reopening. While the club is getting excited about a future return to the field, Neish said they will be using Eastern New York’s guidelines to safely go back.

With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with nine leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
