Program & Member Development: It Matters

Manager of Program Development
Iowa Soccer Welcomes Damien Corrieri to Staff

DES MOINES, Iowa (September 17, 2021) – As Iowa Soccer moves forward its member services and retention initiatives, a newly-created position of Manager of Program Development has been filled.  Damien Corrieri has been tapped to provide organization-wide support to existing programs and to spearhead additional opportunities for all membership.

Corrieri has been involved as a contracted coach in Iowa Soccer programs for many years and is well-respected by coaching peers, parents, and players alike.  He also has an extensive background in program development, leadership, and implementation in a club setting.

“As our membership evolves, our organization is assessing member needs and working to better align our resources.  We’re looking to create sustainable and accessible opportunities, programs, and services that all members can access” commented Associate Director Jenny Wood.  “While Damien’s title is program-focused, his proven, diverse skills, background, and positive relationships in the soccer community position him uniquely to support and execute the vision in a multitude of ways.  He brings a refreshing perspective and work ethic to our staff, and I know we’ll eventually get him to like Chicago-style pizza.”

Corrieri added “I’m excited to join Iowa Soccer and I look forward to helping build and grow programs that will support members. And if you don’t fold your oversized slice of pizza in half before taking a bite, you aren’t doing it right.”

Corrieri originally hails from Queens, N.Y. having studied Journalism & Mass Communications at Iowa State.  He's earned a U.S. Soccer B License, and was the 2019 Iowa Soccer Boys Competitive Coach of the Year.  He was most recently a club director of coaching where in addition to coaching, he handled marketing and communications, delivered content and leadership for staff coaches, was involved in strategic planning/execution, and successfully led program development and fundraising efforts.
