FRISCO, Texas (March 8, 2018) – The second day of play concluded at the 2018 US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer Presidents Cup  as 28 teams from North Texas began their quest for a state title and the opportunity to advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup in Greenville, S.C. Last year, eight of the 10 North Texas Presidents Cup Champions advanced to the semifinals of the 2017 Southern Presidents Cup with 14-Under Solar 03 Wells and 16-Under Dallas Texans 01 Red ultimately claiming regional titles.

Teams in the 13-Under through 18-Under boys and girls age groups will compete at Valley Ridge Park in Cedar Hill, Texas and Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington, Texas From March 7-11. Champions will be crowned March 11, with the winners representing North Texas at the Southern Presidents Cup at the MeSA Soccer Complex in Greenville, S.C. from June 12-17, 2018. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup held in Westfield, Ind. from July 11-15, 2018.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

15-Under Boys
Colleyville Evolution 03 and FC Dallas Youth 03 East battled to a 1-1 draw in the opening match of Group A. Defending North Texas Presidents Cup semifinalists Arsenal SC 03 Mendez fell to Fever United 03 in a back-and-forth match that ultimately resulted in a 3-2 win for Fever. Dallas Texans 03 West will join Fever at the top of Group B after a 4-2 win over FC Warryors 02. 2017 North Texas Presidents Cup finalists Real GP 03 Rodriguez began its tournament with a strong 3-0 win over Kernow Storm 02 Medina, while the other Group C match saw Liverpool 03 Fowler defeat Arlington FC 2-0.

15-Under Girls
D’Feeters Kicks 03 narrowly defeated AYSES 03 Gold to open play in Group D, while FC Dallas Youth 03 White defeated FC Dallas Texoma 03 4-0.

16-Under Boys
Dallas Texans 02 Red Fort Worth moved to the top of Group A with a 5-0 win against Arsenal SC 02. Last year’s finalist Real GP 02 Rodriguez moved to the top of Group B courtesy of a 2-0 win against FC Lightning 02, while the other Group B match resulted in a 2-2 draw between John 3:16 Academy and FC Dallas ETX 02. Defending North Texas Presidents Cup Champions and Southern Presidents Cup semifinalists Dallas Kicks 02 Selecao drew El Azul FC 02 3-3, while Athletic Dallas SC moved to the top of Group C with a 2-0 win against FC Premier 02 Forzi.

17-Under Boys
2017 North Texas Presidents Cup finalists Solar 01 Fagen started strong in this year’s tournament with a 7-2 win over FC Dallas Youth 01 Central. In Group D, Arsenal 01 and Kernow Storm FC 01 are at the top of the group after Arsenal edged out Azzurri FC 01 1-0 and Kernow Storm defeated Olympians SC 01 6-1.

17-Under Girls
Q Factor FC 01 began tournament play on a strong note with a 8-0 win against Texas Lightning. Not to be outdone, FC Dallas Youth 01 West defeated Cadence FC 6-2 in the other match in the 17-Under age group.

18-Under Girls
Texas Lighting defeated 2017 North Texas Presidents Cup semifinalists Liverpool 00 Rush 2-0 in the opening match, while D’Feeters 00 took care of business against Infinity FC 00 5-1 to join Texas Lightning at the top of the group.
