Play begins at the 2018 North Texas Soccer State Cup

FRISCO, Texas (May 6, 2018) – Play began at the 2018 US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer State Cup, the premier club soccer competition in North Texas, as 175 teams began their quest for a state championship and the opportunity to advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships.

Teams in the 11-Under through 19-Under boys and girls age groups will play at Richland College and the University of Texas at Dallas. Champions will be crowned May 13, with the winners in the 13-Under through 19-Under boys and girls age groups representing North Texas at the 2018 Southern Regional Championships at Bryan Park Soccer Complex in Greensboro, N.C. from June 22-28, 2018.

North Texas Soccer State Cup champions will join the other State Cup champions, US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League winners and select wildcards at the Southern Regional Championships. Regional winners will then represent the South Region at the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships held at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco Texas on July 24-29.

The North Texas Soccer State Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19U age groups from each regional event will compete against National League winners at the National Championships.

11-Under Girls
DFeeters Kicks JM/Bones defeated Solar 07 JDL 4-0 to grab first place in Group A, while Solar 07 Rundell and Sting Central 07 Parsons battled to a 1-1 draw in the other Group A match. A pair of FC Dallas teams moved to the top of Group B after opening day wins. FC Dallas Youth 07 Red edged out Dallas Texans 07 Dallas 1-0, while FC Dallas Youth 07 West outscored Dallas Texans 07 North 3-2.

11-Under Boys
FC Dallas Youth 07 Academy sits alone at the top of Group A after a 4-0 win against FC Dallas Youth 07 Boys. Solar 07 McKinney and Dallas Rush FC Voutier both earned wins in Group B as Solar won 4-2 against Dallas Texans 07 Red, while Dallas Rush earned a 2-1 win against Liverpool 07 Owen.

12-Under Girls
Sting Dallas Black 06 used a convincing 8-1 win against FC Dallas Youth 06 South to start off the tournament and will join FC Dallas WTX 06 Gibbs at the top of Group A after the FC Dallas side inched past Dallas Texans 06 Girls 1-0. 2017 North Texas State Cup finalists Texas Spirit 06 Monk defeated 2017 State Cup semi-finalists DFeeters 06 Colon 3-0, while DFeeters Kicks 06 Perette earned a win against Solar 06 Byars by the same score to join Texas Spirit at the top of Group B.

12-Under Boys
Defending North Texas State Cup champions FC Dallas 06 Premier got its title defense off to a strong start after defeating Solar 06 Julioa 5-1 on the opening day of play. Joining FC Dallas at the top of Group A will be 2017 State Cup finalists Dallas Texans 06 Adames STH after a 3-0 win against FC Dallas Youth 06 Gold. Solar 06 Hildebrand sits alone at the top of Group B after a narrow 2-1 victory against FC Dallas Youth 06 Navy. 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Solar 06 Barboza and FC Dallas Youth 06 Central drew 1-1 in the other Group B match.

13-Under Girls
A pair of 2017 State Cup champions earned victories on Day 1. Dallas Texans 06 South, which won the 11-Under State Cup last season, edged out 2017 State Cup finalists Fever United 05 Penn 2-1, while 2017 State Cup champions in the 12-Under Girls age group Liverpool 05 Elite narrowly defeated NTX Celtic 05 Marshall 2-1 to take first place in Group B. In Group C, 2017 State Cup semi-finalists DFeeters Kicks Selecao 05 earned a 3-1 win against Solar 05 Haylock.

13-Under Boys
2018 SRPL West champions Liverpool 05 Dalgish began the State Cup on a good note with a 3-0 win against defending State Cup champs FC Dallas Youth 05 Premier, while 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Solar 05 Castro also moved to the top of Group A after a 3-0 win against Solar 05 Martinez. AC Milan Prado 05 sits alone at the top of Group B after a 1-0 win against FC Dallas Youth 05 Gold. FC Dallas ETX 05 Bravo leads Group C after earning two wins on the opening day of play. FC Dallas first took down FC Dallas Youth 05 North 6-1 in the morning and took care of business against 2017 State Cup semi-finalists FC Dallas Youth 05 Boys 1-0 later in the day. Dallas Kicks 05 Selecao defeated FC Dallas Youth 05 Boys 6-1 in the other Group C match.

14-Under Girls
2017-18 SRPL West champions DFeeters 04 Voutier and FC Premier 04 both secured two wins on the opening day to move to the top of Group A. DFeeters earned a 3-0 win against Dallas Texans 04 Central before gaining a 6-0 win over DFeeters 04 Prime. FC Premier scored a 4-1 against Dfeeters 04 Prime before edging out Dallas Texans 2-1 later in the day. SRPL West runner-up FC Dallas Youth 04 Blue also earned two wins on the first day of play. FC Dallas earned 3-0 victories against 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Solar 04 Rundell and FC Dallas Youth 04 Premier. FC Dallas 04 Premier defeated Sting Dallas 04 Flanagan 3-1 earlier in the day to move to second in the division, while Sting and Solar battled to a 1-1 draw later in the day.

14-Under Boys
2017 North Texas Presidents Cup Champions Chelsea East SC 04 made a strong State Cup debut with a 5-0 win against Barcelona SC 04. Not to be outdone, 2017 State Cup semi-finalists FC Dallas Youth 04 Premier took care of business in the other Group A match with a 5-1 win against Dallas Texans 04 South. Dallas Texans 04 Fort Worth and Fever United 04 Nichols battled to a scoreless stalemate, which allowed FC Dallas Youth 04 West to climb to the top of Group B with a 4-1 win against FC Dallas Youth 04 Gold.

FC Premier 04 Yellow put itself in prime position in Group C after earning a 2-1 win against Liverpool 04 Toshack before securing a thrilling 3-2 win against 2017 State Cup finalists Dallas Kicks 04 Selecao. Dallas Kicks beat AYSES 04 Gold 2-1 earlier in the day. FC Premier 04 Forzi currently leads Group D after draws against defending State Cup Champions FC Dallas Youth 04 East Gold and FC Premier 04 Green. FC Dallas Youth 04 Boys leads Group D after earning wins over Dallas Texans 04 Dallas and FC Dallas ETX 04.

15-Under Girls
2017 State Cup semi-finalists Dallas Texans 03 Dallas and FC Dallas Youth 03 White moved to the top of Group A after both sides earned one-goal victories against Solar 03 Llamas. Defending State Cup Champions Liverpool 03 Elite started its title defense with a pair of victories against DFeeters 03 Hanson and Sting East 03 Hopkins. Sting defeated Solar 03 Wells 4-1 to start today, but Solar would get its first win of the day in a 2-0 victory over DFeeters. 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Sing West 03 Khan and Solar 03 Grado are neck and neck at the top of Group D after both sides earned a win and a draw on the first day of play. Both sides tied Liverpool 03 Owen and earned one-goal victories against FC Dallas WTX 03 Midland.

15-Under Boys
FC Dallas Youth 03 Premier and Colleyville Evolution 03 advanced to the top of Group A with wins over FC Dallas Youth 03 Blue and 2017 State Cup finalists FC Dallas Youth 03 Central respectively. Defending State Cup champions FC Premier 03 and Azzurri FC 03 both secured shut-out wins to move to the top of Group B. FPS FC 03 and Solar 03 Sawyer battled to a 1-1 draw in both side’s second match of the day.

16-Under Girls
2017 SRPL West runner-up Sparta FC Elite earned a 2-0 win over Dallas Texans 02 Dallas and will be joined at the top of Group A by Solar 02 Claros, which defeated Frisco Fusion 3-1 on Day 1. FC Dallas 02 Premier won 2-0 over 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Solar 02 Naizer, while Solar 02 Fagen used a 5-1 win against Sting North 02 Larry to also advance to the top of Group B. In Group C, Dallas Texans 02 West won a 3-2 thriller against 2017 State Cup finalists Sting Dallas 02 Flanagan. Revolution 02 also notched an opening day victory after winning 5-1 over DFeeters Kicks 02 Esquive.

16-Under Boys
2017 SRPL West champions FC Dallas 02 Premier reached the semifinals of the 2017 State Cup and got off on the right foot with a hard-fought 4-2 win against Dallas Kicks 02 Selecao. FC Dallas Youth 02 Red earned a 5-1 victory over Frisco Fusion 02 in the other Group A match. Defending State, Region and National Champions Solar 02 Stricker made a statement with a big win over Cruz Azul FC 02 on the first day, while Solar Williams White defeated Solar 02 Williams 2-1 in the other Group B match. Solar 02 Sawyer used a 1-1 record to move to the top of Group C after winning 3-1 against FPS FC 02 before falling to AYSES 02 Gold 1-0 later in the day. AYSES and 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Odyssey SC 02 occupy the top of Group D after AYSES defeated a pair of Solar teams and Odyssey won 5-2 against FC Dallas Youth 02 West and earned a 1-0 win over Solar 02 Castro.

17-Under Girls
2017 State Cup semi-finalists Fever United 01 Guerra earned a hard-fought 2-1 win against Dallas Texans 01 White Dallas to move to the top of Group A, while Fever United 01 DSC drew Dallas Texans 01 Red North 1-1 in the other Group A match. 2017 State Cup finalists Solar 01 Wells defeated 2017 State Cup semi-finalist FC Dallas Youth 01 West 2-1, while Dallas Texans 01 FTW joined Solar at the top of Group B after a 4-1 win over FCUSA Texas 01. Solar 01 Fagen defeated Sting East 01 Dunstan 3-0, while Sting West 01 Wombough earned a win by the same score over Sting North 01 Larry.

17-Under Boys
Sporting United SC 01 Videla sits alone at the top of Group A after a 3-2 win against Azurri FC 01, while 2017 State Cup semi-finalists Solar 01 Stricker and Dallas Texans 01 Red Dallas drew 2-2 in the other Group A match. 2017 State Cup semi-finalists FC Dalls Youth 01 Central defeated 2017 State Cup finalists FC Dallas Youth 01 Premier 2-1 to move to the top of Group B, while FC Dallas Youth 01 Red sits alone at the top of Group C after a 3-1 win against Mexico 01B. Defending State Cup champions Solar 01 Sawyer drew Solar 01 Fagen 3-3.

18-Under Girls
Solar 00 Williams moved to the top of Group A courtesy of a 4-1 win against 2017 State Cup finalists Dallas Texans 00 Dallas. Revolution SC 00 Duarte earned a 5-3 win in a back-and-forth match against 2017 State Cup semi-finalists DFeeters North 00 Willis. Frisco Fusion 00 joins Revolution SC at the top of Group B after a narrow 2-1 win against AYSES East 00 Gold.

18-Under Boys
Defending State Cup Champions and 2017 National Championships finalists FC Dallas 00 Premier stands alone at the top of Group A after edging out Liverpool 00 Keegan 1-0. 2017 State Cup finalists FC Dallas 00 Boys is already headed to the Southern Regional Championships courtesy of a first place SRPL West finish, but that didn’t prevent a strong 3-0 win against Solar 00 Passos on the opening day of play. Anoranzas FC 00 also prevailed in its first game with a 3-1 win against FC Dallas Youth 00 Central to join FC Dallas 00 Boys at the top of Group B.

19-Under Girls
Defending State Cup Champions Solar 99 Grado earned a 3-1 win against FC Dallas 99 East to move to the top of the group.

19-Under Boys
Defending State Cup champions Barcelona 99 started its title defense with a strong 4-0 win against Solar 99 East on the first day of play. Barcelona is joined by 2017 Southern Regional Championships semi-finalists Solar 99 Sawyer after Solar narrowly defeated AYSES 99 Gold 1-0.
