FRISCO, Texas (March 7, 2018) – Play began at the 2018 US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer Presidents Cup as 16 of 103 teams from North Texas began their quest for a state title and the opportunity to advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup in Greenville, S.C. Last year, eight of the 10 North Texas Presidents Cup Champions advanced to the semifinals of the 2017 Southern Presidents Cup with 14-Under Solar 03 Wells and 16-Under Dallas Texans 01 Red ultimately claiming regional titles.
Teams in the 13-Under through 18-Under boys and girls age groups will compete at Valley Ridge Park in Cedar Hill, Texas and Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington, Texas From March 7-11. Champions will be crowned March 11, with the winners representing North Texas at the Southern Presidents Cup at the MeSA Soccer Complex in Greenville, S.C. from June 12-17, 2018. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup held in Westfield, Ind. from July 11-15, 2018.
The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

15-Under Girls
Dallas Texans Central 03 and Kernow Storm FC 03 moved to the top of Group B after earning wins on the opening day of play. Dallas Texans defeated Ennis Thunder FC 03 6-0, while Kernow Storm was able to edge out FC Dallas Youth 03 Black with a 1-0 win.
16-Under Girls
Two first-half goals gave defending North Texas Presidents Cup champions and Southern Presidents Cup finalists NTX Celtic FC 02 McCallum a 2-0 win against Dallas Texans 02 Red North and the top spot in Group B, while FC Dallas 02 Blue scored the only goal in its 1-0 win over D’Feeters Kicks 02 to take control of Group A.

17-Under Boys
FC Dallas 01 West took care of business in its opening Presidents Cup match with a 9-0 win against DI Stars FC 01 and now leads Group C. American Academy of Soccer 01 looked to be joining FC Dallas at the top of Group C after it got out to a 2-0 lead against Mutiny FC 2001, but Mutiny would come roaring back with two goals in the second half to earn a 2-2 draw.
18-Under Boys
American Academy of Soccer 00 Donovan earned its first Presidents Cup victory with a 7-1 win against HPSA Scots 00 to take control of Group A, while American Academy of Soccer 00 Morris battled AYSES 00 Gold to a scoreless draw to begin the tournament.
