FRISCO, Texas (March 10, 2017) – Play began at the 2017 US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer Presidents Cup presented by Dr Pepper as 24 of 83 teams from North Texas began their quest  for a state title and the opportunity to advance to the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup in Tulsa, Okla.

Teams in the Under-13 through Under-17/18 boys and girls age groups will compete at Valley Ridge Park in Cedar Hill, Texas. Champions will be crowned March 12, with the winners representing North Texas at the Region III Presidents Cup at Mohawk Soccer Complex in Tulsa, Okla. from June 13-18, 2017. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup held at Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale, Fla. from July 12-16, 2017.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

Under-13 Girls
FC Dallas Youth 04 Central took control of Group A with a 5-1 victory over Sting West 04 Serrato. Fever United now stands at the top of Group B thanks to defeating Texas Spurs FC 04 McMullan by the same 5-1 score. Texas Shock FC 04 was the final team to gain an upper hand in its respective group after defeating Dallas Kicks 04 2-0 on the opening day of play.

Under-16 Boys
Dallas Texans 01 Red took control of Group A courtesy of a convincing 8-1 win over Elite Bedford 01. Group B took shape as all four teams were in play on Thursday with Mutiny FC 2001 Black and Solar Chelsea 01 Wells moving to the top of the group. Mutiny defeated FC Dallas 01 Central Blue 3-1, while Solar claimed a 4-2 win over Kernow Storm FC 01.

Under- 16 Girls
Sting West 01 Jones and FCUSA Texas 01 moved to the top of their respective groups after the first day of play. Sting used a convincing 9-0 win over Texas Lightning 01 Carter to take control of the division, while FCUSA had a little more drama in its 1-0 win over Cadence FC 01.

Under- 17 Girls
Group A remains up for grabs after the first day thanks to Texas Spirit 00 and FC Dallas 99 East drawing 2-2. Solar Chelsea 00 Volkan sits in first place of Group B after defeating Infinity FC 00 4-1. Liverpool 00 Rush and Odyssey SC 00 are tied for first place in Group C after both sides claimed one-goal victories on Thursday. Liverpool defeated FC Dallas 00 East 1-0, while Odyssey squeaked past Texas Lightning 00 H Carter 2-1.
