Patrick Shea volunteered for Colorado Soccer in 1980 when he and few teammates helped Horst Richardson conduct referee and coaching sessions. Pat demonstrated skills and ran through drills from potential instructors.
Although he played indoor and outdoor throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Pat returned to volunteering in 2010 when he helped train players in East Denver and earned his USSF National D License. Pat volunteered as a coach for the Denver Kickers for four seasons and multiple indoor sessions.
In 2013 and 2014, Pat volunteered with the Colorado Soccer Association Olympic Development Program coaching staff and devoted hours to develop new adult leagues.
With two new soccer-optimized camera systems at the start of 2015, Pat started volunteering his filming services for the Colorado Rapids, Switchbacks FC, US Soccer, CSA, Real Salt Lake, Denver South, the Denver Kickers, the High School Soccer Officials (HSSO), Play the Whistle, Colorado Storm, Harpo's FC, NCAA, the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL), and other leagues and teams playing games in the Rocky Mountain Region.
In 2016, Pat volunteered his filming services for three days at the USASA Soccer Fest 2016 (Veterans Cup) at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. Pat distributed footage to dozens of USASA members for free.
Congratulations Pat on your induction into the USASA Region IV Hall of Fame!
