The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

PA West Soccer Announces New Coaching Requirements

The new requirements to become effective September 1, 2018.

For spring 2018 new coaches have a requirement to complete the free 20-minute online Introduction to Grassroots course.  It's available in the Digital Coaching Center (DCC).  Coach who do not have an account will need to create one and then complete the free introductory course.

In a dramatic change in coaching education USSF no longer offers the F License and the E Coaching Licenses. US Soccer recently introduced a new coaching education pathway starting with the grassroots licenses. US Soccer has already made the 4 v 4 module available online through the DCC. The other three modules (7 v 7, 9 v 9, and 11 v 11) will be available online in the upcoming future. Also, there will be four grassroots licenses available through in-person courses.

Coaches seeking a D License will be required to complete one online grassroots course and two in person grassroots courses; one of which must be the 11 v 11 course.  If a coach already has an F License and intends to take the D license course in the future, the coach must complete two in-person Grassroots courses. One of the grassroots courses must be the 11 v 11 course and the F License can be used as the one online course.

PA West Soccer will begin creating a schedule for the in person courses and registration for the in-person licenses will be available via the DCC. Running one or more grassroots in person modules (4 v 4, 7 v 7, 9 v 9 or 11 v 11) is absolutely feasible for individual clubs and PA West Soccer encourages clubs to offer these opportunities to their coaches. Interest clubs should contact Amy Fogle by email.
