Overland Park, Kan., chosen to host 2019 US Youth Soccer Midwest Presidents Cup

FRISCO, Texas (March 8, 2018) — US Youth Soccer is proud to announce that Overland Park, Kan., and the Kansas State Youth Soccer Association will host the 2019 US Youth Soccer Midwest Presidents Cup, June 13-17 at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex.

The event will feature approximately 120 Boys and Girls teams in the 13U through 19U age groups. Regional winners of the 13U through 18U Boys and Girls age groups will earn a berth to the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.

“Kansas State Youth Soccer Association is thrilled to have the 2019 Midwest Presidents Cup in Overland Park,” said Kansas State Youth Soccer Executive Director Joel Dragan. “Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex is truly one of the premier soccer facilities in the country and will undoubtedly be a great site for this important event. As the Midwest Presidents Cup continues to grow, KSYSA is proud to be a part of the tournament’s success. We look forward to the great competition and excitement that comes with the Midwest Presidents Cup.”

Overland Park is a veteran in hosting several US Youth Soccer events, including most recently the 2017 Midwest Presidents Cup. Additionally, Overland Park has been the host of three other Midwest Presidents Cup events (2012-2014) as well as the 2015 National Presidents Cup and the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Championships.

With the continued annual growth of the Midwest Presidents Cup, having the event in Overland Park provides teams with a top-of-the-line playing experience and ample entertainment options off the field.”

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup competitions provide a progressive, competitive experience to US Youth Soccer teams from the state to regional to national level. Each US Youth Soccer State Association determines the path through which its state teams advance to the regional competitions.
