Ogden City SC Announcers Their Goalkeepers

Sandy, Utah (May 2, 2019) – Ogden City Soccer Club has announced their seventh and last round of players to its roster.  This week they announced the re-signing of Mitch Jensen from Utah Valley University, and named three new players which are Tanner Kennard from i2i International Soccer Academy, Zach Nielson from Dixie State University, and JD Myers from Snow College.

Mitch, Tanner, Zach, and JD are alumni of Utah Youth Soccer Association, bringing the total to 22 UYSA alums out of the 29 players announced.

Ogden City Soccer Club will open their season at home against new rival Park City Red Wolves on May 23, 2019 at 7:30 PM at the Spence Eccles Ogden Community Soccer Complex.  Below is a bio for each player:

Mitch Jensen

Mitch is from Kaysville, Utah and is returning for a second season with Ogden City. Last year he provided over 350 minutes on the pitch with 14 saves and a .667% save percentage and was second on the team with a 1.77 goals against average. Mitch is a redshirt senior at Utah Valley University. He missed last year at UVU due to injury but before that he was named to the NSCAA All-West Region second team and named first-team All-WAC. He ranked third in the country in goals against average (.476) and 10th in save percentage (.833).

Tanner Kennard

Tanner is from Bountiful, Utah and recently attended the i2i International Soccer Academy. He played with Sparta before graduating high school and during his last year with Sparta he led his Sparta 00 JK team to win their National League White Division, where they received an automatic birth to the US Youth Soccer National Championship tournament.  

Zach Nielson

Zach is a redshirt junior at Dixie State University from West Point, Utah. He started in 16 games this past season while recording a goals against average of 1.31, a save percentage of .729%, and 62 saves. In 2017, he was named PacWest Co-Goalkeeper of the Year and earned first team all-PacWest honors.

JD Myers

JD is a freshman from West Jordan, UT at Snow College. Before committing to the Badgers he played with La Roca and USA. JD was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region 2nd team after starting 18 games and having a tremendous season with a .86 goals against average, .800 save percentage and 8 shutouts.
