Nebraska State Soccer Announces C.O.R.E. CLUB Standards Awards

In an effort to educate our membership and promote an awareness of best club practices, Nebraska State Soccer has announced a new C.O.R.E. Club Standards program designed to identify and award those clubs meeting and excelling in professional business practices and operations.

In recognition of the fact that what defines a ‘good’ club being so much more than winning and losing, or trophies and twitter posts, NSS has set out core areas that we feel our membership needs in order to have a successful soccer experience.

The C.O.R.E. Club standards will be an award system focused on identifying clubs who excel in focusing on four key areas of development and member education.  Those areas are:  Community, Operations, Risk Management and Education.

Community – clubs engage in growing the game for all, providing facilities, promoting community events and awards

Operations – clubs have a clear and defined vision and mission and player pathways for their members, reliable customer service and communications with membership

Risk Management – follow important protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of our members

Education – develop both coaches and players with a focus on teaching, not simply winning

Starting for the 2019-2020 season year, clubs will have the opportunity to complete a group of required items earn a point in each category. At the end of the spring season, clubs who earned all four categories will be named a Gold Club. Clubs with three out of four will earn Silver Club and clubs with two out of four will earn Bronze Club.

Our Gold, Silver and Bronze Club lists will be announced and posted on our website in May and we will honor those clubs at our annual Awards Dinner each November.  Clubs will receive information on how to submit your requirements for each category soon. In the meantime, you can find the full requirement list here.
