North Texas teams open NL Frontier Conference season

FRISCO, Texas (Aug. 20, 2018) -- North Texas Soccer teams lead six of the seven age groups that began play on the opening weekend of the 2018-19 US Youth Soccer National League Frontier Conference. North Texas teams combined for a 29-6-1 record for games in the 14-Under – 19-Under Boys and 18-Under Girls age groups, which occurred August 18 and 19 at Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington, Texas.

Oklahoma teams competed against North Texas Soccer teams on the first weekend of play. A full schedule of games and more can be found on the Frontier Conference homepage. The US Youth Soccer National League Frontier Conference is one of 13 Conferences under the US Youth Soccer National Leagues Program in the Multi-State Tier

The Frontier Conference consists of teams primarily from Oklahoma, North Texas and South Texas. The top teams in the Conference will earn advancement to the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championship, part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, as well as a chance to earn a coveted spot in the National Tier of the Leagues Program, the US Youth Soccer National League. Last season, four North Texas Soccer teams claimed titles.

14-Under Boys

Defending champions Liverpool 05 Dalgish and 2018 North Texas State Cup champions Dallas Kicks 05 sit at the top of the standings after both sides secured two wins in as many days. Liverpool defeated OK Energy FC Central 05 (OK) 3-0 before earning a second shutout with a 6-0 victory over OK Energy FC East 05 (OK). Dallas Kicks won 6-1 against OK Energy East on the first day of play before defeating OK Energy FC Central 4-0 on the second day of play.

15-Under Boys

After both FC Dallas 04 Premier and Dallas Kicks 04 Selecao fell on the opening day of play, both teams rebounded to secure points on the second day. FC Dallas Premier battled OK Energy FC 04 Central (OK) to a 1-1 draw, while Dallas Kicks won 3-2 over OK Energy FC East 04 (OK).

16-Under Boys

North Texas teams put forth a strong showing against Oklahoma as two-time defending North Texas State Cup champions FC Premier 03 Opoku, FC Dallas 03 Premier, FC Dallas 03 West and Solar 03 De Leaon combined for a perfect 8-0 record over the weekend.

17-Under Boys

Solar 02 Castro moved to the top of the standings with a 5-2 win against OK Energy FC Central 02 (OK) on day one and a 4-3 victory over OK Energy FC East 02 (OK) on the second day of play. Defending champs FC Dallas 02 Premier struggled on the opening weekend with two one-goal defeats.

18-Under Girls

Last season’s runner-up Fever United 01 Penn and 2018 State Cup champions Dallas Texans 01 Red each earned two victories to move to the top of the standings. Fever won 3-0 against OK Energy FC East 01 (OK) and Lady Lions (TX-S) to open the season, while Dallas Texans defeated Lions 1-0 on day one before earning a 7-0 victory against OK Energy on the second day.

18-Under Boys

Solar 01 Stricker and FC Dallas 01 Premier join OK Energy FC Central 01 (OK) at the top of the standings after two sets of games. Solar combined for 20 goals while notching two shutouts, while FC Dallas 01 Premier won 8-0 and 5-1 against the same opponents. FC Dallas 01 Central earned a 4-0 win against OK Energy FC East 01 (OK), but fell 3-1 to OK Energy FC Central 01 on the second day of play. 2018 State Cup champions Sporting United 01 fell to OK Energy FC Central on 3-1 on the opening day of play, but responded with a 2-0 win over OK Energy FC East.

19-Under Boys

FC Dallas 00 Boys and FC Dallas 00 Premier finished at the top of the standings last season and are currently in the same position as both sides earned two wins to open play. Defending champions FC Dallas 00 Boys combined for 18 goals and one allowed, while 2018 State Cup champions FC Dallas 00 Premier scored 10 goals while allowing two.
