FRISCO, Texas (June 20, 2019) - Twenty-seven North Texas Soccer teams are headed to Baton Rouge, La., for the 2019 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championships. Teams in the 13-Under through 19-Under Boys and Girls age groups will compete for regional titles, and a spot in the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships. Group play will take place June 21-23, quarterfinals will be played June 24-25, semifinals will occur June 26 and champions will be crowned July 27.
Twelve of the teams representing North Texas clinched their spot in the Regional Championships via a first place finish in the National League Frontier Conference. Of the 14 Frontier Conference divisions, North Texas teams claimed all but two titles.
The remaining teams earned their spot in the Southern Regional Championships via their performance in the 2019 North Texas State Cup. 13-Under Boys FC Dallas 06 Premier, 14-Under Girls DFeeters 05 Black, 16-Under Boys FC Dallas 03 Premier, 17-Under Boys Solar 02 Castro, 17-Under Girls Sparta FC 02 Elite, 18-Under Girls Dallas Texans 01 Red Dallas and 19-Under Boys FC Dallas 00 Boys claimed both Frontier Conference and State Cup titles.
Four North Texas teams head to Baton Rouge with the hopes of repeating as Southern Regional Champions. 14-Under Girls DFeeters, 15-Under Girls FC Dallas 04 Blue, 16-Under Girls Dfeeters 03 Black and 17-Under Girls Sparta all return after claiming regional titles last year in Greensboro, N.C.
Three North Texas teams have already earned a spot in the 2019 National Championships, which will be held July 23-28 in Overland Park, Kan. DFeeters 05 Black, Solar 02 Castro and Solar 01 Stricker all won US Youth Soccer National League titles in order to secure a spot in the National Championships.
