GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 24, 2017) – The 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships continuned with 27 North Texas Soccer teams looking to claim a regional title and secure a spot in the US Youth Soccer National Championships. Teams in the Under-13 through Under-19/20 boys and girls age groups competed at Bryan Park Soccer Complex in Greensboro, N.C. from June 23-29, 2017.
US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West winners in the Under-13 and Under-14 Boys and Girls age groups along with champions and runner-ups in the Under-15 through Under-19/20 Boys and Girls age groups joined State Cup Champions and select wildcards at the Region III Championships. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2017 National Championships held at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco Texas on July 25-29.
The North Texas Soccer State Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19/20U age groups from each regional event will converge in the finals with the National League teams.
Under-13 Girls
Dallas Texans 05 South (TX-N) recovered from a first-day loss with a 4-0 win against Sporting Arkansas 04 Red (AR) on day two. Georgia Santos netted a hat trick and Emeri Adames added a fourth goal for Dallas Texans.
The match between Dallas Texans 04 South (TX-N) and OCYS (FL) ended in a scoreless draw. Dallas Texans will play 04 CASL Junior (NC) on the final day of group play.
Under-13 Boys
FC Dallas East Gold (TX-N) went down 2-0 to 04 GUSA Dynamo (NC), but was able to respond with a goal from a free-kick. However, an equalizer was not in the cards as the match ended 2-1.

Under-14 Girls
Dallas Texans 03 (TX-N) took care of business with a 6-0 win over Cabot Soccer Association (AR) on the second day of play. Amaya Davis netted a brace to go with goals from Kaydence Ramirez, Bailey Johnson, Meleni Lorenzo and Victoria Soland.
Under-14 Boys
FC Premier 03 Opoku (TX-N) was defeated by SA/CFA Dalton (GA) 5-1 on the second day of play. Auden Quinonez scored FC Premier’s goal.

Under-15 Girls
Solar Chelsea 02 Naizer (TX-N) battled LSC 02 Red (TX-S) to a 1-1 draw to remain tied at the top of Group A. Kaleigh Naizer scored her third goal of the tournament for Solar.
Solar Chelsea 02 Grado (TX-N) also has four points and sits at the top of its group after a 3-0 win over Covington YSA Tigers (LA). Audrey Swanson, Taylor Conway and Gabriella Lovkvist all scored for Solar.
Under-15 Boys
Solar Chelsea 02 Stricker (TX-N) continues to roll at the Region III Championships as the four-time North Texas State Cup champions won 4-1 against Chattanooga FC (TN) to earn a spot in the quarterfinals. Ilean Castorena netted a pair of goals to go with a goal from Harvey Castro and Riley O’Donnell’s age group-leading fifth goal.
Odyssey 02 (TX-N) rebounded from a loss yesterday with a 1-0 win thanks to a late goal from Johnny Sauceda. Odyssey will play Oklahoma FC 02 (OK) on the final day of group play.
Dallas Texans 02 South (TX-N) fell 2-1 in a tight match against Tennessee SC 2002 Showcase (TN). Shaun Myers scored the lone goal for Dallas Texans.

Under-16 Girls
Fever United 01 Mariscal (TX-N) was narrowly edged out by Lonestar SC 01 Red (TX-S) on the second day of play. Fever will take on Discoveries 01 Gold (SC) on the final day of group play.
Sting East Dunstan (TX-N) were defeated 3-0 by Tennessee SC Showcase (TN) and will play FC Alliance 01 (NC) on the final day of group play.
Dallas Texans 01 (TX-N) sits alone at the top of Group B after a 2-1 win against Mandeville SC Lakers (LA). A Mandeville own goal and Rebecca Watley’s goal gave Texans the 2-1 win.
Under-16 Boys
Solar Chelsea 01 Elite (TX-N) moved to 1-1 after a 3-1 loss to Tampa Bay United (FL). William Hitchcock scored his second goal in as many games for the North Texas State Cup Champions.
Solar Chelsea 01 Stricker (TX-N) secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over MS Rush 01 Premier (MS). Robert Pino, Eric Jorgensen and Julian Fernandez all scored for Solar Stricker.

Under-17 Girls
Dallas Texans Fort Worth Black (TX-N) drew UFA Milton 00 Premier (GA) 2-2 and remains in control of its own destiny heading to the final day of group play.
Solar Chelsea 00 Bates (TX-N) and Dallas Kicks SC (TX-N) faced off in a match of in-state rivals. The defending region champs Dallas Kicks ultimately prevailed with a much-needed 3-1 win. After the match was knotted at 1-1, Under-17 USWNT player Samantha Meza broke the tie with a goal off the post, and Desiree Ramirez sealed the 3-1 win with a goal from the left flank.
Under-17 Boys
FC Dallas 00 Premier (TX-N) was faced with an early 2-0 deficit, but would ultimately win 3-2 to remain in first place of Group A. Not to be outdone, FC Dallas 00 Che (TX-N) is also 2-0 after a 4-0 win against USA/MT Pleasant Premier (SC).

Under-18 Girls
Solar Chelsea 99 (TX-N) fell 2-1 to Florida Krush Black (FL) on the second day of play. Florida got off to a 1-0 lead, but Solar’s Gabriela Garcia would equalize for the North Texas State Cup Champs. However, Krush would find another goal to make the final score 2-1.
Sting Central 99 Parker (TX-N) was on the wrong end of a 4-3 match on the opening day of play, but Sting would rebound with a 4-3 win against Huntsville FC 99 Blue (AL) to move to 1-1. Abigail Parker, Kristen Burdick, Sofia Munoz and Julia Martinez all found the back of the net for Sting.
Under-18 Boys
FC Dallas Premier 99 (TX-N) moved to the top of Group A after a 2-1 win over in-state rival Dallas Texans 99 Red (TX-N). Dallas Texans broke the scoreless stalemate when Gabriel Segovia Plate found the back of the net in the first half. FC Dallas you would respond with unanswered goals from Guy Esquivel and Matthew D’Annunzio in the second half to secure the 2-1 win.
Solar Chelsea 99 Sawyer (TX-N) earned its first win of the tournament 3-1 on the second day of play against Ambush SC 99 Red (GA). After surrendering an early goal on a penalty-kick, Solar responded with three unanswered goals from Ian Meece, Trevor Martineau and Mario Letayf.

Under-19/20 Boys
FC Dallas 98 Premier Dymond (TX-N) was unable to find the back of the net as the SRPL West champions fell to KSA 97 Premier College (GA) 1-0 on the second day of play.
Barcelona 98 Blue (TX-N) and Birmingham United SA (AL) battled to a scoreless draw on the second day of play. Barcelona will need a win on the final day of group play for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals.
