GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 25, 2017) – Of the 27 North Texas Soccer teams that began play at the 2017 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships, 16 teams have advanced to the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals matches will be played June 26 and 27 with semifinals beginning June 28. Teams in the Under-13 through Under-19/20 boys and girls age groups competed at Bryan Park Soccer Complex in Greensboro, N.C. from June 23-29, 2017.

US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West winners in the Under-13 and Under-14 Boys and Girls age groups along with champions and runner-ups in the Under-15 through Under-19/20 Boys and Girls age groups joined State Cup Champions and select wildcards at the Region III Championships. Regional winners will then represent Region III at the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships held at Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco Texas on July 25-29.

The North Texas Soccer State Cup is the first step in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the 13U through 19/20U age groups from each regional event will converge in the finals with the National League teams.

Under-13 Girls
A late goal from Emeri Adams gave Dallas Texans 05 South (TX-N) the 1-0 win against DSC Lady Gold (SC) and a spot in the quarterfinals. Texans 05 will face-off against Tennessee Soccer Club (TN) in the quarterfinals.

Dallas Texans 04 South (TX-N) took care of business on the final day of group play with a 4-0 win against 04 CASL Junior (NC) to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. SaMaya Mitchell scored a pair of goals to go with goals from Camryn Gonzales and Kylie Davis. Texans 04 will play Lonestar 04 Red (TX-S) in the quarterfinals.

U13G

Under-13 Boys
FC Dallas East Gold (TX-N) earned its first win of the competition by edging out MS Rush Premier (MS) 1-0 on the final day of group play.

Under-14 Girls
Breanna Fuentes and Meleni Lorenzo netted goals for Dallas Texans 03 (TX-N), who overcame a loss on day one to take second place in Group D and advance to the quarterfinals, where they will play Tennessee SC Showcase (TN).

Under-14 Boys
FC Premier 03 Opoku (TX-N) were unable to find the back of the net on the final day of group play as the North Texas State Cup champions fell 3-0 to USA/MP 2002 Premier (SC).

Under-15 Girls
Solar Chelsea 02 Grado (TX-N) finished at the top of Group C after a 1-0 win against USA/MP 02 Premier (SC). Ima Antunez buried a shot after connecting a string of passes with her teammates late in the second half. Solar will play 02 CASL North (NC) in the quarterfinals.

Solar Chelsea 02 Naizer (TX-N) will join its fellow Solar side in the quarterfinals despite a 3-0 loss to Sting Austin (TX-S) on the final day of group play. Solar will play MS Rush Premier (MS) in the quarterfinals.

Under-15 Boys
Solar Chelsea 02 Stricker (TX-N) wrapped up group play with a 2-0 win over SCUFC 02 Elite (SC). Solar won the group with a 3-0 record while failing to concede a goal, and the four-time North Texas State Cup champions will play Ives Estates Thunder (FL) in the quarterfinals.

Odyssey 02 (TX-N) were unable to secure a spot in the quarterfinals after a hard-fought 2-1 defeat at the hands of Oklahoma FC 02 (OK). Brock Pope scored for Odyssey, which hit the post twice in the second half.

Dallas Texans 02 South (TX-N) ended the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Smyrna SC 2002 (GA) on the final day of group play.

U15B Odyssey

Under-16 Girls
Dallas Texans 01 (TX-N) reserved a spot in the semifinals despite a 2-0 loss to defending Region III Champions Florida Elite (FL). Dallas Texans will play UFA 01 Premier (GA) in the quarterfinals.

Fever United 01 Mariscal (TX-N) ended the tournament on a strong note with a thrilling 5-4 win against Discoveries 01 Gold (SC). Cloey Seltzer netted a hat trick for Fever to go with goals from Molly Lowe and Kathryn Harris.

Sting East Dunstan (TX-N) fell to FC Alliance 01 (TN) 1-0 on the final day of group play.

U16G Texans

Under-16 Boys
Solar Chelsea 01 Elite (TX-N) earned a spot in the quarterfinals thanks to a late 2-1 win against Oklahoma FC 01 (OK). After going down 1-0, Samuel Coad netted an equalizer after he slipped his shot past the keeper from the right side of the box. Diego Sierra’s rocket from 25-yards-out gave Solar the 2-1 and a spot in the quarterfinals. Solar will take on KSA 01 Pro Profile (GA) in the quarterfinals.

Solar Chelsea 01 Stricker (TX-N) had already qualified to the quarterfinals after a 2-0 start, but the SRPL West runners-up wrapped up Group C with a 1-0 win over Birmingham United SA (AL). John David Hodges scored the only goal of the match. Solar will play 01 CASL Red North (NC) in the quarterfinals.

U16B

Under-17 Girls
Defending Region III Champions Dallas Kicks SC 00 (TX-N) got off to a strong 3-0 start against local side 00 GUSA Navy (NC) thanks to a Desiree Ramirez brace an Gabriella Torres. GUSA was able to pull one back, but the final score would read 3-1. Kicks will play SSA Chelsea 00 Elite (GA) in the quarterfinals.
 
Dallas Texans Fort Worth Black (TX-N) secured first place in Group D and ultimately a quarterfinals spot after a 4-1 win against MS Rush Premier (MS). Dallas Texans will face 00 TFCA Alliance (NC) in the quarterfinals.

Solar Chelsea 00 Bates (TX-N) fell 2-1 to CSA 2000 Lobos (TN) on the final day of group play. Lobos went up early, but Solar was able to equalize with Melissa Blanchette’s goal. However, Lobos would respond immediately with a goal, and the score would stand until the final whistle.

U17G Solar

Under-17 Boys
FC Dallas 00 Che (TX-N) sits alone at the top of Group B after a 5-3 win against Team Boca (FL). FC Dallas Che will play CASL Red 00 North (NC) in the quarterfinals.

FC Dallas 00 Premier (TX-N) knows all about CASL Red North after the North Texas State Cup Champions defeated the North Carolina side on the final day of group play 2-1 to win Group A. In the quarterfinals FC Dallas Premier will play against SLSC 2000 Blue (OK), who FC Dallas Che defeated 4-1 on the first day of play.
 
Under-18 Girls
Sting Central 99 Parker (TX-N) earned a spot in the quarterfinals after a 1-1 draw against AFC Lightning 99 (GA) on the final day of group play. After going down a goal early, Emily Mount would net the equalizer for Sting. The North Texas State Cup runner-up will face-off against TSC Showcase (TN) in the quarterfinals.

Solar Chelsea 99 fell to SSC Freedom (SC) 2-1 with Solar’s lone goal coming courtesy of Kristen Meadows.

U18G Day 3

Under-18 Boys
FC Dallas Premier 99 (TX-N) won Group A after a 1-1 draw against Ambush SC 99 Red (GA). Dorihan Funga-Mukabe netted the goal for FC Dallas, who will play Birmingham United SA (AL) in the quarterfinals.

Solar Chelsea 99 Sawyer (TX-N) earned a 5-0 win against Dallas Texans 99 Red (TX-N) and a spot in the quarterfinals as a result. Ian Meece and Trevor Martineau netted brace’s for Solar to go with William McLeod’s goal. Solar will play ACYS Spirit United Elite (FL) in the quarterfinals.

U18B Day 3

Under-19/20 Boys
FC Dallas 98 Premier Dymond (TX-N) ended on a strong note with a 5-0 win against Mighty Blue Birds (AR) as Duncan James, Dylan Sadler, Blake Carter, Julian Barajas and Frankie Velez IV scored for FC Dallas.


Barcelona 98 Blue (TX-N) just missed out on the quarterfinals with a 1-1-1 record.
