North Texas Soccer players at U.S. Youth National Team camps

FRISCO, Texas (April 25, 2017) – The North Texas Soccer players attended United States April Women’s National Team training camps. Trinity Byars and Olivia Pena joined the Under-15 Women’s National Team in College Station, Texas from April 22-29. Sydney Simmons joined the Under-18 Women’s National Team in Chula Vista, Calif. from April 15-22.

Byars and Pena won the 2016 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas with Solar Chelsea Red. Solar has won two US Youth Soccer North Texas State Cup titles and the 2016 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships.

Byars tied for the most goals in the Under-13 Girls age group with four goals, including the game-winning goal in the finals against So Cal Blues 02 Baker, while Pena has participated in the North Texas Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) since 2015.

U-18 WNT player Sydney Simmons won the 2013 North Texas State Cup, 2013 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships and placed fourth at the 2013 National Championships while playing with Liverpool FC. Simmons also won the 2013 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League, North Texas State Cup in 2014 and placed fourth in the 2013-2014 US Youth Soccer National League with Solar Chelsea. Simmons will continue her soccer career at Duke University.
