North Texas Soccer is excited to announce the launching of our esports platform, North Texas Soccer Gaming club. The platform will feature weekly leagues as well as tournaments throughout the year in FIFA and Rocket League.

Esports and gaming is not a replacement for soccer, however there are numerous benefits from organized, competitive esports play. Esports can encourage and develop principals we hold dearly, including competitiveness, sportsmanship, teamwork, communication, and responsibility. For soccer simulation titles like FIFA and Rocket League, eports are complementary to North Texas Soccer as it provides kids with a unique opportunity to learn and understand the game of soccer from a bird's eye view.

Every parent, coach or guardian probably realizes that 90% of our children are digitally engaged and play video games on a regular basis. When channeled appropriately, this can be a good thing. This is an opportunity to give children, coaches and parents a platform to further bond and engage with one another in a fun and safe environment when they are unable to meet on our grass fields. Additionally, esports is opening up additional pathways for scholarships, social engagement and sportsmanship.

With the spirit of improving children's lives we are delivering a gaming and esports club that will provide an additional layer of support to the in-person soccer leagues to further enhance grassroots youth soccer development. Our goal is to provide a fuller, more rich experience to our players.

Participants have to be registered with North Texas Soccer. If you do not currently play soccer, but would like to play esports, please contact North Texas Soccer to sign up. Players will be required to own a copy of the video game featured in the events  (weeklies, tournaments, or ladders) they wish to  join, as well as a compatible device to play the game.

Participants are assigned to different divisions according to their age groups, console,  type (Xbox One and Playstation 4) and video game. Crossplay games, such as Rocket League, will only be divided by age groups since all console types can play together, including PC.

Tournaments on the other hand, will revolve around a one day event for players to compete in a group staging followed by a single elimination bracket. Ladders are geared towards players who want to play with an opponent during their free time and challenges them to a match. All players will play under the banner of their respective home club or association, representing your team officially. Winning players and winning clubs or associations will be celebrated on the North Texas website.
