FRISCO, Texas (Oct. 21 2016) – North Texas Soccer alums Brandon Aubrey (Notre Dame) and Reagan Dunk (University of Denver) were among the top five players listed in TopDrawerSoccer’s NCAA Midseason Men’s Top 100 ranking. Aubrey was listed first on the list, while Dunk came in at five.
Aubrey, who was named to the 2015 ACC Championships All-Tournament Team, is second on the team in points with eight goals and one assist. The senior from Plano, Texas has started all but two matches for the fourth ranked Fighting Irish since his sophomore year.
Before staring at Notre Dame, Aubrey made a name for himself while playing for Dallas Texans. Aubrey won five US Youth Soccer North Texas State Cup titles and reached the finals of the 2009 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships. Aubrey has also played in the prestigious US Youth Soccer National League while gathering US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League West, Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance Classic League and Dallas Cup titles.
Dunk, who won his fourth Summit League Defender of the Week honor this week as Denver recorded shutouts against #9 Butler and Western Illinois, was a NSCAA Second Team All-American, MAC Hermann Semifinalist, Summit League Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Summit League in 2015. This season, Dunk was named to this year’s MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List and started 13 out of 14 matches for #5 Denver. The Dallas native played his youth soccer for Solar SC and played in the CCSAI Classic League from 2006-09.
