North Texas ODP – Fall Recap

In August, North Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) hosted its annual tryouts to select players to become part of the State Player Pools for the 2004 – 2010 age groups. Players converged from across the state to compete for an opportunity to represent North Texas. After all the selections had been made, almost 500 players were selected to join the program for the 2020 – 2021 season. To see a full list of each player pool click HERE

Sport Source College Showcase: December 4th – 6th  

North Texas ODP State Teams in the 2004 and 2005 age groups competed in the Sport Source College Showcase, where they performed for college scouts from throughout the country. Altogether, the State Teams went undefeated in this event, combining for 16 wins and five ties, while outscoring their opponents 86-13. Click HERE for pictures from this event.  

Group Recaps 

2005 Girls (16-Under) 

The 2005 Girls sent two teams to the event with both teams going 3-0 throughout the weekend. The White team rolled through their schedule collecting three victories in as many games over teams from both North and South Texas. Their wins came against NB Ajax 05G White (S-TX), Fever United 05G (N-TX), and GSA Force FC 05G (S-TX).  

Not to be outdone, the Red team put together three shutout victories over Lonestar 05G Red North (S-TX), AHFC 05/06G Blue (S-TX), and Classics Elite SA (S-TX). 

2005 Boys (16-Under) 

The two 2005 Boys teams brought back four wins and two ties throughout the competition. The Red team solidified three convincing wins against Dynamo Humble 05 (S-TX), AHFC 05B Red (S-TX) and winning the state border battle with South Texas ODP 05B Red (S-TX).  

The White team controlled all three games, but were denied chances in the final third resulting in 1-1 ties with Dallas Roma FC (N-TX) and Dynamo Humble 05 (S-TX). However, in their final match they completed the age group sweep over South Texas ODP, claiming a victory over their White team to cap off the weekend.

2004 Girls (17-Under) 

The 2004 Girls had the most diverse schedule facing teams from South Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma. They began the event with a solid win over Lonestar Red Elite 04 (S-TX), followed by a tie with Colorado Rapids 04 (CO), before bouncing back and finishing up the event with a win over WSA 04 Black (OK).  

2004 Boys (17-Under) 

The 2004 Boys found similar success to their age group counterparts hauling in four wins and two draws between their two sides. The Red team took care of business against Houston Dynamo Tomball (S-TX), suffered a minor setback with a draw against Albion Hurricanes 04B Elite (S-TX), but finished strong with a win over Dynamos Gold (S-TX). 

The White team found equal success to the Red team, picking up wins against Lions 04 Red (S-TX) and Dynamo Humble 04 PA (S-TX), while fighting to a tough draw with South Texas ODP 04B White (S-TX). 

South Texas ODP Friendlies: December 19th & 20th  

2006 – 2010 North Texas ODP State Teams traveled down to Round Rock, Texas to compete against fellow ODP State Teams from South Texas and Louisiana. Despite heavy rainfall at the beginning of the event, each team was able to complete all of their games and put on a show for all in attendance. The event served as a great building block, as the players prepare for the second half of their ODP season. To see pictures from this event click HERE.

2010 Girls (11-Under) 

The youngest age group in the program got their first taste of ODP action by facing off against their southern counterparts. The Red team finished with a 1-1-1 record for the weekend, picking up a win against the STX White team, while losing, and drawing the STX Red team.  

The White team split games with STX White, seeing each team take a win over the other on the weekend, while they fell to the STX Red team.  

2010 Boys (11-Under) 

The three 2010 Boys teams saw equal competition from their South Texas foes. Of the nine games between North and South Texas sides, North Texas won the overall battle five games to four. The Red team started off with a multi-goal win over STX Blue, then was on the wrong side of a one score difference against STX White. North Texas Red would finish the weekend off with a victory over STX Red. 

The White team saw similar results picking up wins over the STX White and STX Blue teams, but fell to the STX Red team. 

The Blue team opened up play with a loss to STX Red, but responded well with a win over STX Blue, before finally succumbing to a one goal difference defeat to STX White. 

2009 Girls (12-Under) 

Three 2009 Girls teams combined for six wins, one loss, and two ties over the weekend. The Red team started strong with a win over STX White, fell in a one score match to STX Red, but responded with a win over Louisiana. 

The White team had a trifecta of games against STX opponents, defeating the STX Blue team, while having two hard fought ties against the STX White and Red teams. 

The Blue team rounded out the event with a clean sweep of wins over Louisiana, STX Blue, and STX White.

2009 Boys (12-Under) 

Just as their female counterparts, the 2009 boys also brought three teams to the event. The White team saw the same draw as the girls, facing off against three STX opponents. They finished the event falling to STX Red, drawing with STX White, and defeating STX Blue. 

The Red team had similar results as the White team, ending with a draw against the STX White team, and a loss to STX Red. The closed out the weekend with a tough loss to Louisiana Blue. 

The Blue team also finished with a 1-1-1 record, narrowly falling to STX Blue, but finding success against Louisiana, with a win and a draw against their Gold and Blue teams. 

2008 Girls (13-Under) 

Both 2008 Girls teams faced off against three strong STX teams over the two days. The Red team came away with wins against the STX White and Blue teams, while falling to the STX Red team. 

The White team had an equal result against the STX Red team, but were able to bounce back in two defensive showdowns with the STX White and Blue teams, finishing with draws in each of their last two games. 

2008 Boys (13-Under) 

The 2008 Boys found overall success on the weekend finishing with a combined record of 4-1-1. The Red team outscored their opponents 9-1 winning all three games against STX Red, STX White, and Louisiana. 

The White team clawed out a tie against STX Red, before beating the STX White team, but were ultimately bested by their eastern neighbors Louisiana.  

2007 Girls (14-Under) 

The 2007 Girls had a tough bout of games while in Round Rock. The Red team started with a loss to a quality Louisiana side, but rebounded with a tie against STX Red. Their final game was playing up an age group against STX Red 06, where they ultimately fell, but were able to keep the score close slipping two goals past the opposing keeper. 

The White team fell in games against STX Red, STX White and Louisiana. They also had the opportunity to play up, facing the STX White 06 team to close out their weekend.  

2007 Boys (14-Under) 

The 2007 Boys saw a combined record of five wins and only one loss, which came at the hands of an older 06 team. The Red team completed wins against both STX Red and STX White, with their lone loss coming to the STX White 06 team. 

The White team completed a clean sweep, taking down Louisiana, STX White, and STX Red 08, outscoring these opponents 11-1. 

2006 Girls (15-Under) 

The 2006 Girls teams finished with five wins and a lone loss across their six games. The Red team won all three of their games taking down, STX Red, STX White and STX Red 07. 

The White team started with a convincing win over STX Red, before narrowly falling to STX White. North Texas 06 White would respond in their final game by picking up a win over STX White 07. 

2006 Boys (15-Under) 

The 2006 Boys rounded out the weekend with six hard fought games. The Red team won three, one-score matchups against STX Red, STX White, and the Houston Dynamo 07 MLS. 

The White team fell to both STX Red and STX White, but finished with a dominating win over STX Red 07.
