FRISCO, Texas (Sept. 20, 2018) – Former North Texas Soccer players Cyera Hintzen (University of Texas) and Katie Lund (Texas Christian University) have been named to the 75-player list of men’s and women’s NCAA Division I players named to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists.
Hinzten is a junior forward from Garland, Texas. In her sophomore season, Hintzen led the Big 12 in points (25), match winning goals (six) and tied for the most goals (10). Hintzen also racked up her fair share of awards, as she was named 2017 United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American and First Team All-South Region. Hintzen native played in the North Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2009-13 and represented North Texas at the 2013 US Youth Soccer ODP Championships. Hintzen played club soccer for Sting and FC Dallas and won the 2010 North Texas Soccer State Cup with the latter.
Lund is a junior goalkeeper from Plano Texas. In her sophomore season, Lund was named to the Big 12 First Team All-Conference, 2017 Second-team All-Region team and was named the Big 12 Championships Defensive Most Outstanding player. Lund also appeared in every single TCU match since joining the Horned Frogs. Lund was a member of the North Texas ODP team in 2009 and played her club soccer for Sting and D’Feeters.
