FRISCO, Texas (Oct. 25, 2017) – Former North Texas Soccer players Jordan Cano (SMU) and Alex Greene (Lehigh) were named NCAA Division I Conference Players of the week.

Cano earned his second American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award after anchoring an SMU backline that earned shutouts against Oral Roberts and Cincinnati last week. The 12th ranked Mustangs now have eight shutouts on the season, and Cano has been integral as the senior defender has started every match for the Mustangs and trails only goalkeeper Michael Nelson in minutes played. The Frisco, Texas native played club soccer for Solar Soccer Club and FC Dallas. Cano played in the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) and reached the quarterfinals of the 2009 North Texas State Cup.

Greene was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals and setting up two assists in two Lehigh wins last week. Greene netted the eventual game-winner in a 3-0 win over Drexel before scoring and adding a pair of assists in a 4-1 victory against American University. The junior midfielder has started every match for Lehigh this season alongside his twin brother, Oscar Greene. Alex Greene is third on the team in points with four goals and three assists. The Flower Mound, Texas native played his club soccer for Solar and reached the semifinals of the 2014 Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup.
