North Texas Alum Winn taken in MLS SuperDraft

ALAN WINN

FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 22, 2018) – Former North Texas Soccer player and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill forward Alan Winn was selected with the 25th overall pick of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids. The draft was held Jan. 19 in Philadelphia.

Winn was a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist in his senior year at North Carolina. The Garland, Texas native was a First Team All-ACC selection after leading the Tar Heels with 11 goals to go with two assists. Winn was second in the ACC with 11 goals and third in conference in points per game (1.5). Winn also spent time competing with the Under-18 U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team.

Winn spent his youth career playing for Solar Soccer Club, where he won a US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League  (SRPL) West title in 2010 after finishing in second place the previous season. Winn also competed in the North Texas Soccer State Cup and was involved with the North Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) as well as the South Region ODP team.
