Entry Level Referee - Grade 8 Certification
- 8 Hours Credit: Online Instruction in GameOfficials.net
- 8 Hours of Classroom and Outdoor/Field Training
The USSF Grade 8 class provides training specific to youth games. Grade 8 referees also have the opportunity to work adult leagues, tournaments, and other competitions with appropriate experience and comfort level on the field.
Requirements USSF Grade 8
- Ages 14 and up register by selecting a course at: coreferees.gameofficials.net
- Sign up for the course, view the courses offered (listed as Entry Level 1 Day or 2 Day)
- Each course requires the online training to be successfully completed with minimum score of 75 to attend the 8-hr class/field session
The Colorado Referee Program and the CRC encourages class participants for the Gr. 8 to be age 14. The registration system is set to these parameters.
Ages 13 and under:
Exceptions to the age requirements can be made if:
- Referee has a parent attending the class with them and they will officiate together
- Referee will have an older, experienced mentor/adult to work with to ensure they are successful starting as a new ref. Name of mentor/adult is requested prior to registration
- Recommendation/reference that a U14 player is ready for the program from a referee, assignor, mentor, assessor, instructor.
Many Colorado Soccer Clubs offer Club Referee Certifications for recreational programs, the young referees are encouraged to start within a club program working rec/developmental game before taking the full USSF course.
If the requirements are met, the age override code will be provided for registration.
