MYSA to host U.S. Soccer Federation 'C' License Coaching Education Course

Plymouth, Michigan (February 21, 2017) – The Michigan State Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a United States Soccer Federation ‘C’ License Course in Pontiac, Michigan.  The first course meeting (instructional week) will run from April 2nd to 9th, with the second meeting (performance review) taking place from June 23rd to 25th.  All course meetings will be conducted at Ultimate Soccer Arena located at 867 S Blvd. East, Pontiac, Michigan 48341. Host hotel information will be made available soon.

The cost to register for this course is $1,595 per candidate.

Course Details:
The US Soccer C Course focuses on the core concepts of coaching:

  1. Coaching Training Sessions
  2. Coaching Games
  3. Leading Players
  4. Leading the Team
  5. Managing a Performance Environment
  6. Leadership

 

Eligibility
To register for the U.S. Soccer C course, all candidates must meet the following per-requisites:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Have held a U.S. Soccer D license for at least 12 months
  • -OR-meet the waiver guidelines
  • Currently coaching


Interested candidates who wish to apply based on a waiver must apply directly to the MSYSA.

Course Structure
The C course consists of two course meetings separated by a development period. The total course duration is approximately 2-3 months.

Meeting 1: April 2nd to 9th, 2017
Developmental Period: April 10th to June 22nd
Meeting 2: June 23rd to 25th, 2017

All candidates must attend both meetings and cannot transfer between different national courses.  Check in at both meetings will take place from 4:00 – 5:30 pm on the first day.  Both course meetings are scheduled to be finished by 2:00 pm on the final day.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
A candidate seeking to withdraw from a clinic must do so in writing at least 30 days prior to the start of a clinic. Failure to attend a clinic without prior written notice of cancellation will result in the forfeiture of all fees. Candidates will receive a full refund for a clinic that is cancelled.

2016/17 MSYSA Director’s Academy Information Pursuant to Director’s Academy Rule 7.D., The rostered head coach for every team participating in Director’s Academy must attend at least one (1) MSYSA approved coaching education event. A portion, to be determined by MSYSA, will be provided to clubs to help subsidize the cost of attendance.
