FRISCO, Texas (April 16, 2018) – Liverpool 05 Dalgish secured a spot in the 2018 Southern Regional Championships in dramatic fashion as the North Texas side claimed a victory on the final day of play to leapfrog Rise SC 05 Elite (S-TX) into the top of the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League (SRPL) West 13-Under Boys standings.
2017-18 SRPL West Standings
Liverpool held the lead for the majority of the season after a 4-0-2 start, but a 1-1 draw with Lonestar SC 05 Red (TX-S) and a 1-0 defeat at the hands of FC Dallas Youth 05 Premier (TX-N) resulted in Liverpool needing a win on the final day of play. Liverpool did just that with a 3-1 victory over ID Houston Dynamo 05, and Liverpool got some help from a fellow North Texas side when Solar 05 Martinez (TX-N) battled Rise SC to a 3-3 draw on the final day of play. Liverpool is the fifth North Texas side to claim a SRPL West title this season, and the 10th North Texas team to secure a spot at the 2018 Southern Regional Championships.

There are still games to be played in the 13-Under Girls age group, but OK Energy FC 05 Central (OK) secured first place over the past weekend with a 2-1 win against OK Energy FC 05 East (OK). Liverpool 05 Elite (TX-N) and Solar 05 Haylock (TX-N) will battle it out for third place. Liverpool 05 currently sits in third place with a 6-2 record and is four points up on Solar, but Solar has a game in hand, and the two sides will face-off at the end of April.
