December 18, 2019-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that James Alvarado has been selected as our Boys Recreational Coach of the Year. He was nominated by Metrokids Interregional Soccer League President Cesar Juca and honored at the Eastern New York Holiday Party on December 7 at Marina del Rey in the Bronx.

The Fresh Meadows resident played for the Academia Argentina from 2005 to 2012 and he started coaching Academia Argentina Boys-Under-14 to Boys-Under-16 teams as a very young adult in 2014.

James gives every player his undivided attention during practice and they are motivated to work hard and improve. The coach’s philosophy is to make sure to raise the level of each player.
He continues to strive to reach his potential as a coach as he has received D, E and F coaching licenses and works with the NYCFC Academy. Additionally, he gives monthly soccer clinics at PS69 in Queens.

With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border.
