GU 13-18 RSL Presidents Cup Day 2

Mesquite, NV (2/16/18)

Day 2 was a little windy, a little cold, and a lot of fun. The U13-U18 girls tournament is always one of the funnest weekends of the year. The camaraderie seen between all the girls whether it be pregame dancing, goal celebrations, or post game hugs is what youth sports is all about. It is an amazing atmosphere and can only be matched by the action on the pitch.

We are one day closer to knockout rounds and crowning RSL Presidents champions, with that in mind here's some memorable games from today.

TODAYS GAMES

13U

Very few close games in the group today as BE United, Liverpool F.C. and USA Metro Premier all won by multiple goals, 3, 7, 6 respectively. One of the close games was as close as they get, as a zero zero draw was played between USA Elite and FC Mesquite Tornadoes.

14U

4s were lucky today as NUU Tsunami, Utah Surf Davis, and Blue Knights all scored 4 in victories over USA Metro, Elite FC, and FC Mesquite Blast. Scoring one more than luck number 4 was Utah Storm with 5 goals in their comprehensive 5-0 victory.

15U

A good day for L30 teams in the age group as they won 3 games. L30 Crush Black won twice, a 6-1 win over Elite FC and 2-0 over Utah Glory. The other L30 team in the age group, L30 Ogden Valley Impact won their first game of the tournament 2-1 over FC Mesquite.

16U

La Roca KP in their first game of the tournament came out hot with a 5-0 win. Wasatch SC also looked good today with a 5-0 win of their own. Look for a tight slate of games tomorrow as wildcards and brackets will be determined.

17U

Look out for L30 Crush as the club with a National Presidents Cup title made a statement with a 7-0 win. Their main competition in their group, the two teams tied yesterday, Forza FC also won convincingly with a 5-0 win.

18U

RSL Presidents Cup's Idaho representatives, Madison United, played two games today and got results in both. A 2-2 draw with Impact and then a 5-1 win against Cima FC puts them in first place in group B with one game left tomorrow.
