FRISCO, Texas (March 7, 2019) – Play began at the 2019 US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer Presidents Cup as 32 of 101 teams from North Texas began their quest  for a state title and the opportunity to advance to the 2019 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup in Round Rock, Texas. Last season, four of the 12 North Texas Presidents Cup champions reached the Southern Presidents Cup finals, with two teams advancing to the 2018 National Presidents Cup. Mutiny FC 02 White ultimately claimed the 16-Under Girls National Presidents Cup title.

Teams in the 13-Under through 18-Under boys and girls age groups will compete at Valley Ridge Park in Cedar Hill, Texas and Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington, Texas From March 7-10, with March 11 being available if needed. Champions will be crowned March 10, with the winners representing North Texas at the Southern Presidents Cup June 11-16 in Round Rock, Texas. Regional winners will then represent the South Region at the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup held in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

15-Under Boys

Barcelona SC 04 sits at the top of Bracket A courtesy of a narrow 2-1 win against FCP Dynamos 04. Falls Town FC and Legacy FC 04 are tied for second place in the bracket after the two teams tied 1-1 on the opening day of play. Fever United 04 Nichols and FC Dallas ETX 04 Premier moved to the top of Group B after identical 5-1 wins against Inter United FC 04 Bradford and Elite United FC 04 Reyes respectively. Bayern Munich FC 04 notched its first win of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Dallas Tigres Academy 04 and will be joined by FC Dallas 04 North, which edged out a 3-2 win against Sporting United 04 Hale.

 

16-Under Girls

After going down 1-0 early, FC Dallas 03 West responded to ultimately win 3-2 against DFeeters Kicks 03 Esquivel. 2017 Presidents Cup champions Solar 03 Wells began the tournament with a 3-1 win over Frisco Fusion 03 to join FC Dallas at the top of Group A. FC Dallas 03 White took sole control of first place in Group C after a 5-0 win against Invictus SC 03. FC Dallas Texoma 03 drew Kernow Storm FC 03 1-1 in the other Group C match.

16-Under Boys

In Group C, Rayos 03 and Sporting United 03 Videla both used wins by four-goal-margins to move to the top of the group. Rayos won 4-0 against FC Warryors 02 Nava, while Sporting United won 5-1 over Dallas Kicks North 03 Venom. Dallas Tigres Academy 03 put forth a strong result in the opening round with a 5-0 win against Solar 03 De Leon. Liverpool 03 Shankly also recorded a shutout in Group D, albeit with a little more drama with a 1-0 victory over FC Dallas 03 Central.

 

18-Under Boys
Defending champions OU United SC got its title defense off to a strong start with a 4-2 win against American Academy of Soccer 01 Gonzalez. Kernow Storm FC 01 will join OU United at the top of Group B with a 3-1 win against Fever United 01 Vaughn in the other 18-Under Boys match of the evening.
