From February 15, 2018: With a sad and heavy heart, we share the following news from our local affiliate Parkland Soccer Club:
“It is with great sadness that one of our beloved Parkland Soccer Club players was one of the victims of the shooting yesterday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Alyssa Alhadeff was a loved and well-respected member of our club and community. Alyssa will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all the other victims of this tragic event. Please see the following note from her family and help us honor Alyssa.”
"To Alyssa’s Friends honor Alyssa by doing something fabulous in your life. Don’t ever give up and inspire for greatness. Live for Alyssa! Be her voice and breathe for her. Alyssa loved you all forever!”
In memory of Alyssa Alhadeff and support of the family, community, and Parkland Soccer Club U15 Girls Team, there will be a vigil tonight, February 15, 2018, at 5:00 PM at Pine Trails Park at Field #9. Please wear red in support. Participants may bring candles and flowers.
From all of us at the Florida Youth Soccer Association, our thoughts and prayers go out to Alyssa’s family, friends, and all those individuals affected by the shooting yesterday.
With much love and support,
The Florida Youth Soccer Association
