Frisco, Texas (Oct. 19, 2016) – North Texas Soccer alums Kyle Parks (Harvard), Blake Elder (University of Denver), Reagan Dunk (University of Denver), Casie Ramsier (Auburn) and Kelsie Roberts (Abilene Christian) received Players of the Week accolades from their respective NCAA Division I Conferences.
Parks was named Ivy League Player of the Week after recording shutouts against Boston College and Brown University, while making four saves in each match. The consecutive clean sheets extended the Plano, Texas native’s shutout streak to 293 minutes as Parks has started every match for Harvard.
Before playing for Harvard, Parks played for Dallas Texans and FC Dallas in his youth days. Parks played in the Chamber Classic Soccer Alliance Classic League from 2007-14 and placed third in the US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Premier League West Division with FC Dallas. In addition to competing in US Youth Soccer North Texas Soccer State Cups, Parks reached the finals of the 2014 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships with FC Dallas.
Elder and Dunk have become fixtures in the Denver line-up with both players appearing in every match. Elder leads Denver in goals and points, while Dunk has started 13 of Denver’s 14 matches while adding five assists. Elder collected his first Summit Offensive Player of the Week honor after netting the game-winner against #9 Butler University, which was his side’s first win over a top-ten program. Dunk earned his fourth Defensive Player of the Week accolade as Denver recorded shutouts against Butler and Western Illinois. Both players competed for Solar Soccer Club as Elder competed in the 2013 North Texas State Cup, while Dunk competed in the Classic League from 2006-09.
Ramsier, who was ranked 32nd on TopDrawerSoccer’s Midseason Top 100 and earned the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring the game-winner against #12 Arkansas in the 82nd minute. Ramsier, who became the school’s leader in shots, scored her ninth game-winner and 29th career goal, putting her in a fourth-place tie on Auburn’s all-time list. Ramsier is third on the team with 11 points while scoring four goals and dishing out three assists.
Ramsier is a North Texas Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) alum while also playing for the US Youth Soccer Region III ODP team from 2007-10. The Dallas native competed in the Southern Regional Premier League and Classic League with Solar.
Roberts was named the Southland Defensive Player of the Week, and is the second straight Abilene Christian player to be named a Player of the Week after Sydney Newton was named Goalkeeper of the Week last week. Roberts scored her fourth goal off a corner-kick against Lamar University en route to the team’s 2-1 win. The Lucas, Texas native ranks third on her team in points while starting every game.
Roberts played for Texas Football Club (TFC) in her youth days. Roberts reached the finals of the 2013 North Texas State Cup and played in the Classic League from 2007-13.
