FRISCO, Texas (March 6, 2018) - Five North Texas Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams finished with a combined 6-7-2 record at the 2018 Adidas FC Dallas College Showcase on March 3-4 at Toyota Soccer Center and Moneygram Soccer Park.
The North Texas ODP 01 Boys side finished sixth out of 10 teams in their Under-17 Boys division with a 1-1-1 record. North Texas 01 battled MUSC KC Fusion Academy (KS) to a scoreless draw in the opening match, but the North Texas side would fall to Pekin Pride United 01 (IL) later that day. North Texas 01 finished the showcase on a strong note with a 3-2 win against OK Energy FC 01 Green (OK).
North Texas ODP 02 Boys won its Under-16 division thanks to a 2-0-1 record while scoring seven goals and only conceding one. North Texas 02 began the showcase with a 2-0 win over Kansas Premier Jambars (KS) before securing a 4-0 victory over Sporting Springfield 02 (MO). Mandeville Lakers Elite 02 (LA) would prove to be North Texas 02’s toughest test as the two sides ended the showcase with a 1-1 draw.
North Texas ODP 03 Boys got off to a slow start at the FC Dallas showcase by falling to OK Energy Central 03 (OK) and Shreveport United 03 (LA) on the first day of play, but North Texas 03 would respond on the final day of play with a 6-1 win against Cajun Fury Academy (LA).
North Texas ODP 01-02 Girls were defeated in its opening game against Dynamo Dash 01 (TX-S) but would respond on the second day of play with a 2-0 win over Shreveport United 01 (LA) and a 1-0 win against FC Dallas Youth 01 West (TX-N) to finish third out of eight teams in their Under-17 division.
North Texas ODP 03 Girls battled in three highly contested matches, but were unable to find a win against Lonestar SC 03 (TX-S), Houston Dynamo Dash 03 (TX-S) or Mandeville Lakers 03 (LA) at the FC Dallas Showcase.
