With three teams in the semi-finals it was going to be an exciting day for hundreds of Utah fans, players, and coaches. While only one of the three won today, all three teams gave it their all and put on a show for those in attendance. With only one day left in the tournament, we hope that all have had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful game at its best, we certainly have.
The 15U boys VK Cobras team was the one winning team for Utah and they needed overtime before pulling away with two goals for a 3-1 victory,
Victor Galindo, club president for 15U Boys VK Cobras (UT), said the team is excited to compete for the title in front of friends and family at the Salt Lake City Regional Athletic Complex.
“We have experience going out of town when it’s just the coaches and a couple parents,” Galindo said. “It’s fun to have the Region IV Presidents Cup here because we have a whole sideline of people supporting us.
“It has been a big challenge. We took the challenge, and we love the fact that we’re representing Utah in the final. We’re going to try our best to win it.”
Be sure to come out and support them as they go for a regional title and some revenge against the one team that has beaten them so far, Barcelona out of Nevada. They played in the group stage with Nevada winning 5-1. The rematch takes place 6/18 at 8:30 am on field 14.

The 17U Gremio FC boys team fought hard against Barcelona from Arizona before losing on a last second goal 3-2.
Impact United showed up and challenged Barca Cantera before falling 3-1.
