GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 13, 2018)North Texas Soccer teams got off at a strong start at the 2018 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup as 11 teams combined for eight wins, two draws and one loss on the opening day of play.

The 2018 Southern Presidents Cup takes place June 13-17 at MeSa Soccer Complex in Greenville, S.C. The tournament will feature teams in the 13-Under through 18-Under Boys and Girls age groups with the winners advancing to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, which will be held July 11-15 in Westfield, Ind.

Last year, eight of the ten North Texas teams that competed at the South Presidents Cup advanced to the semifinals with 14-Under Girls Solar and 16-Under Boys Dallas Texans ultimately claiming regional titles.

North Texas teams will join other South Region State Associations: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for those teams seeking additional challenges to play against teams of similar abilities for a state, regional and national title. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.

13U Sting Day 1

13-Under Girls
Sting Dallas 05 Roach got our to an early 2-0 lead against Mandeville SC Lakers Elite (LA), but the Louisiana squad would respond with two goals in the second half as the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Next up for Sting will be 05 NCFC Gold North (NC), which tied OCYS 2005 Purple (FL) 0-0 on the first day of play.

14U Solar Day 1

14-Under Boys
Solar SC 04 Haylock moved to the top of Group B after a convincing 6-1 win against Baton Rouge SC Red (LA) to open play. Next up for Solar is a match against AL Rush 04 Elite (AL), which lost 13-1 to CFA Dalton 04 Elite (GA) in its first match of the tournament.

 

14U FC Dallas Day 1

14-Under Girls
FC Dallas WTX used two goals in the second half to secure a 3-0 win against Aiken Futbol Club Sharks (SC) in the first match. Next up for FC Dallas is Germantown TN Legends (TN), which fell to 04 WCWAA Black (NC) 8-1 today.

 

15U Real GP Day 1

15-Under Boys
Real GP 03 Rodriguez fell to Metro Jackson United 1-0 on the first day of play. Next up for Real GP is a match against CFA Pachuca United 03 (SC), which won 2-0 against AR United 03 Navy (AR) today.

15U Sparta FC

15-Under Girls
Sparta FC used a convincing 6-0 win against Hoover Lady Phantoms 03 (AL) to move to the top of Group A. Sparta will have tomorrow off before playing its final group game against 03 BSC Cardinal (NC) on Friday, June 15.

16U Dallas Texans Day 1

16-Under Boys
Dallas Texans 02 Forth Worth Red sits alone at the top of Group B after scoring four unanswered goals in a 4-1 win against CFA Dalton 02 Premier (GA). Dallas Texans will play defending Southern Presidents Cup champions FC Dallas RGV 02 Red (TX-S) tomorrow.

16U Mutiny Day 1

16-Under Girls
Mutiny FC 02 White won in convincing fashion with an 8-0 victory against OK Energy West 02 (OK) to begin the tournament. Mutiny will next play Florida Celtic SC (FL), which won 1-0 against GPS Lexington SA 02 Gold (SC) on the first day of play.

17U OU United Day 1

17-Under Boys
OU United took care of business on the opening day of play with a 5-0 win against Trussville Fire 01 (AL). OU United will play 01 WHYFC Blue (NC) tomorrow in a battle of 1-0 teams in Group C.

17U QFactor Day 1

17-Under Girls
Q Factor 01 scored three first-half goals to earn a 3-0 win against CRFC Sky 01 (SC). Next on the docket for Q Factor is a match against hometown CESA 01 Challenge (SC), which fell 3-2 to Elite Soccer Academy (FL) today.

18U AAOS Day 1

18-Under Boys
AAOS 00 rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw 00 CSA Charlotte Copa (NC) 2-2 on the first day of play. AAOS will play another North Carolina side tomorrow in 00 NCFC Gold South (NC), which won 2-1 against Clarkson FC Red (GA) today.

18U Liverpool Day 1

18-Under Girls
Liverpool 00 Rush moved to the top of Group A thanks to two second-half goals against MAYS Strikers 00 Premier (GA). Liverpool will next play hometown CESA Tri-County 00 Select, which fell to Real Arkansas 00 Gold (AR) 6-1 on the opening day of play.
