FRISCO, Texas (March 31, 2020) - Eight North Texas Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams finished with a combined 13-6-5 record at the 2020 Scott Dymond FC Dallas College Showcase on March 7-8 at Toyota Soccer Center and Moneygram Soccer Park.
The North Texas ODP 03 Boys Red side started strong in the tournament taking down FC Dallas Youth 03B Central (TX-N) 4-2. North Texas 03 Boys Red would round out the tournament with two tough games against Kansas Premier Soccer U17B (KS) and Weston FC U17 Black (FL).
North Texas ODP 03 Boys White battled three tough teams in the event with FC Dallas Youth 03B Blue (TX-N), St. Charles Soccer Spurs (LA) and FC Dallas Youth 03B Central White (TX-N). North Texas ODP 03 Boys White were able to pick up two ties in their final two games.
North Texas ODP 04 Boys got off to a hot start and kept the momentum rolling through the whole tournament picking up three wins in as many games over the weekend. They took down FC Dallas Youth 04B West (TX-N), Dallas Texans 04B Dallas (TX-N) and BVB 04B ECNL (TX-N) in route to a first-place finish in their group.
North Texas 05 Boys would follow the same route as the 04 Boys, winning all three games during the weekend, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 17-1. During the weekend they defeated Iowa Rush 2005 Boys (IA), St. Vrain 05 Boys Green (CO) and TOCA FC 2005 MLS (KS).
North Texas ODP 03-04 Girls were defeated in its opening game against BVB 03G Premier (TX-N) but would respond in their final two games picking up two tough ties against strong opponents. North Texas 03-04G fought to even the score with Cosmos 03G Elite (OK) before having a back and forth, high scoring affair with Mandeville Lakers Elite 03 (LA).
North Texas ODP 04 Girls battled in three highly contested matches, and were able to come away with three tough wins against Snohomish United Black G04 A (WA), Solar East 04G (TX-N) and FC Frisco Storm Black 04G (TX-N), ultimately finishing on top of their group.
North Texas ODP 05 Girls Red started off with a tie against MFC MS Rush 05G Premier (MS) and followed this up with a well deserved win over FC Dallas Youth 05G West (TX-N). Though they fell short on the final day of play losing to Sting Dallas ECNL RL 05 (TX-N).
North Texas ODP 05 Girls White started off on the right foot taking down Oklahoma Celtic 05G ECRL (OK) and Soccer Ole 05 Premier (TN) on the first day of play. They narrowly missed out on a perfect weekend falling on the final day to a tough side in FC Dallas Youth 05G North Blue (TX-N).
