Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is pleased to announce that we will be using the new GotSport registration platform rolled out by GotSoccer after signing a three-year partnership agreement.
With Eastern New York’s addition, 29 state youth soccer associations now use GotSport’s registration system.
GotSoccer founder Gavin Owen-Thomas was thrilled to welcome Eastern New York aboard. Owen-Thomas is a former newspaper journalist who worked at CNN for 23 years, and has also coached youth and professional soccer plus holds US Soccer A / UEFA Coaching Licenses.
“Eastern New York is one of the largest state associations in the country and I have wanted to work with them for many years. We have met with them many times and we look forward to their players enjoying the many benefits we have to offer,” Owen-Thomas said.
Our members will reap many benefits with the new platform including a mobile responsive system, simple and secure payment options, single user account, pro scheduling/league tools, National GotSoccer rankings for tournament/league participation, along with new tournament scheduling for Eastern New York’s State Cup.
“We will be taking a big step into the future as we start the partnership with GotSoccer for the 2020/21 season,” ENYYSA President Richard Christiano commented. “The GotSport platform will give our affiliate clubs the ability to streamline the registration process for our members and integrate fully with the state management software.”
After lengthy discussions, the ENYYSA Board of Directors unanimously voted to underwrite the cost to change over as we transition from SI Play to GotSoccer. This increase, which was approved at the February General Meeting, was necessary in order for us to change registration systems to a more sophisticated platform for the upcoming season.
“Our Board of Directors felt it was necessary to support leagues due to the recent financial challenges caused by the coronavirus, and it is for this reason, we all agreed to subsidize this increase with monies in Eastern New York's reserve funds,” explained President Christiano. “We continue to work together to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and look forward to the day when our players can get back on the field. Please continue to follow the guidance of our local health and government officials. The safety of our families and our soccer community is, and always will be, our highest priority.”
With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with nine leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators.
